I love to look at the deals. Last year I found my favorite oatmeal for 7.82 (last year-the regular price was 12.21 for the same product. This year it went up to 17.77 for 44 instead of 48). I will see if they have any good deals on that.

I also like to see if there are any good deals on Apple products --like the Airpods Pro (thinking of buying DH a pair this year)

I was just going through our mail and found a post card from Amazon: Prime members save $20.00 when you spend $40.00+ at your Amazon Fresh Store July 12-13 only.

I don't think I have ever set foot in the local Amazon Fresh store, but I think we ought to be out of quarantine by then- and we will definitely need groceries (especially ice cream )

So until March 2020 we did not have amazon prime for years. But then I got it for shipping to hawaii and my mom (is on it with my husband) and now I can't cancel it. She loves amazon prime. So I guess we are now stuck. If it goes up more I'm reconsidering.

I shopped Target Deal Days, which I assume was created in response to Prime Day. So I guess I care even though I'm not shopping Amazon. Bought toilet paper and groceries, stacking the discounts. 40% off TP, 15% off entire order (Target Circle), $10 GC for $50 food spend, 5% Red Card discount.

scfr....that's excellent savings. My first thought was...is there a way to save even more?

I've seen a couple articles and a morning news show segment on Prime Day. All of the "deals" I've seen are on gadgets or "luxury beauty" products. Are there any deals on essentials?

I used a code to buy a $50 egift card and in a couple of days I will receive an additional $12.50 bonus which I will add to my account.

DH and I went to the closest Amazon Fresh store to redeem our $20 off coupon (after you spend at least $40). I believe the whole foods store that is 1 mile from our house carries more produce items, but it was an interesting thing to do on a hot afternoon.

Out of curiosity I checked my Amazon cart this morning and oddly enough a lot of the items I had saved went up in price.

I know there are deals out there. Maybe just not for the items I have been tracking (athletic shorts, frying pan, ear protection).

Yep - so I bet you they raised the prices before they prime day shopping holiday in anticipation of greater sales.

I haven't bought anything because of Prime day but did need something that our local stores don't have. Because of Prime Day, they can't get anything to me in the normal window of a couple of days.... shipping from Amazon is estimated sometime next week! Ugh
                      History will judge the complicit.

It's hard to tell with all the inflation going on.
For example, I have been tracking my favorite oatmeal with 48 individual servings.
                        Sept 2021 48 servings $12.21
                        Nov 2021 44 servings $12.65
                        Feb 2022 44 servings $12.65
In March- it went to 44 servings $17.77, so I cancelled my subscription and looked for it elsewhere. (Did they raise the price in March in anticipation of Prime Day?)
Finding smaller quantities (of 8 individual servings) in the grocery store has been hit or miss (mostly miss).
Last year, for prime day the price was $7.82 (for 48)

This year, the Prime Day sale price is $15.07 (for 44) and $14.32 subscription price.
(There are several other amazon vendors selling the same product for $36-$40.)

Right now it looks like I can get a better per unit price (than the Prime sale price/subscription ) at Target.

As scfr noted above, Target had some pretty good deals in response to Prime day. I tried to get the 10% off my grocery order and $10 Target card with $50.00 grocery purchase if you ordered online. Items were either out or I couldn't get things that needed to be refrigerator/frozen because they were out of space refrigerator/freezer space. (So, I couldn't take advantage of all the discounts. ) Rather than order ahead, DH just went in and picked up what we needed. I think Target probably saw a lot of activity, too.
