No college degree here but I was able to back myself into a rocket scientist position, not really the title of rocket scientist, more appropriately a process operator for Minute Man ICBM 3rd stage rocket motors

We did have an engineer there that supposedly did not have a degree

Well, if you want to be considered by the larger and well-paying departments, you're going to need at least an AA. If you want to make rank, you're going to need more.

There are a lot of IT jobs that you can get into without a degree if you have a knack for it.

I'd add realtor & mortgage loan officers. They can make INSANE money and you don't have to have a degree.
