The CDC can now sit back and relax. They did their part. They scared the world and have brainwashed a lot of people. You're right though, the mask theatrics will be next.Originally posted by TexasHusker View PostInteresting that the CDC is now mentioning "hygiene theatre". This was many months overdue. The masks will eventually go into the same pile of trash.

I can understand relaxing guidelines for preventing surface transmission. But also, I kind of want them to stay. Imagine how much seasonal flu and cold might be reduced in a normal year because of those practices.Originally posted by TexasHusker View PostInteresting that the CDC is now mentioning "hygiene theatre". What are the chances of transmission via close contact and respiratory droplets, though? Seems like the CDC would continue their recommendations on masks if there is a high risk.History will judge the complicit.

It all depends on a person's risk tolerance. "Recommendations" are fine. I have no problem with someone wearing gloves and a mask from now on, if they feel it could protect them from various viruses and infections. Stay home. Avoid movie theatres and ball games. Wash your hands every couple of hours. Carry hand sanitizer. But I don't need government people telling me how to live my life.
We are going to see the collateral damage of all of this junk for years to come. It's not normal human behavior not to have facial expressions and be locked down and isolated. Besides, our nose and skin are much better barriers to disease than some cloth mask made in China.

We get it. Also, the CDC can't enforce anything; they only give guidance and make recommendations, so that's all the thing with masks has ever been. Your state or local government may choose to make laws, or private business may require you to wear a mask while on their property, but it's not the CDC.Originally posted by TexasHusker View Post

Actually, wearing masks is still federal law in any airport, airplane, or federal building. Airports have paid face diaper police running 'round. Ask me how I know.Originally posted by ua_guy View Post

Who mandates it? It's not the CDC. Thank you for proving my point.Originally posted by TexasHusker View Post

Honest question: why do you believe warning people of a virus = brainwashing? I honestly don't get it.Originally posted by rennigade View Post

OK! But if you don’t like the data, claiming that Texas is faking numbers is a great backup plan!Originally posted by ua_guy View Post

Warning us about a virus? These whackos shut my businesses down for 2 months with 43 employees on board. Many employers had it much worse and still do.Originally posted by Petunia 100 View Post
