I think that's part of the issue. If it's not the gubmit talking heads, then it must be wrong.

You think I'm getting this from CNN? A number of these people are spending many hours a day crunching data. What's wrong with that?

Disparage the messenger instead of disprove the data!

Trivia question: Which of these states have been "following the science"?

7 day moving average, cases per 100,000

Now, what would you say if someone provided a nice graph that showed cases of COVID going up despite increased vaccinations with a conclusion: "Vaccinations are Ineffective"?

(And, when you drill down to the underlying details you realize the opposite is true...)

I’m really just going off of macro numbers per state: Cases, deaths, and sometimes hospitalizations per 100,000 people. That data is readily available on hundreds of sites. Show me charts with hard data that lockdowns and masks changed the curve. I really want to be convinced that this all isn’t a waste of time. But I’ll save you some time: There aren’t any.

I suspect Steve has bowed out of this discussion because the evidence is so overwhelming, not because I took something from a statistician who posts his results on Twitter.

I was joking about the headline BTW. I read the piece.

Well, well, Dr. Fauci has just informed us all that “they” have found a new variant that “evades the test.” Dr Fauci wants you to know that you may be sick with an illness that has no symptoms and cannot be detected by a test, so you just need to keep wearing a mask (but probably two).

Let’s stop and let this sink in for a moment.

lol, and people will eat it up. Why is there so much fear mongering going on? Isnt there already an issue with depression in this country? When people like Fauci and any other politicians talk doom and gloom for a year straight, wtf do they think this is going to do to people who are mentally unstable? Or...will there be a pill for that too, or shot? ffs

I just did a search and found nothing about this.

We no longer elect our government to lead us, but instead to take care of us, protect us from ourselves, shape us, mold us, and coerce us into the human beans they deem we should be.

Okay, when you said "just" I thought you were referring to something new.

The FDA issued an advisory on January 8 to alert us that false negative tests can occur if there is a mutation to the part of the virus that is assessed by the test.

So yes, it is possible that the tests we currently use may not detect new variants.

As far as I know, there arent any studies that prove covid was being spread in restaurants, yet they were shut down. People have to realize it was a joke when they started closing down outdoor spaces, or limiting people in outdoor spaces. I know a lot of national parks had limited visitors, or you had to make a reservation to get in. Beaches were shut down. The places the government and local officials should have encourage people to go to, yet they shut it down. Thats when I started realizing it was mostly theater.
One of them was older. Both him and his wife got covid, they were both about 90 and still independent, and healthy for their age. She recovered, he died. The other was about 40. Someone we never would have expected to die of covid. He left behind a wife and teenage children. Very sad. My cousin comes from a side of the family that railed against masks and lockdowns since this began.

The CDC statistic concerning 96% is a documented misinterpretation of data. It is a lie that only 6% of covid deaths actually died of covid.

The CDC hasn’t drastically reduced the number of deaths attributable to COVID-19, but that bogus claim has been circulating widely — boosted by President Trump.

I use fact check because it provides an easy-to-understand summary of the claim, how it was misinterpreted, and what the data actually means.

Factcheck.org does a pretty good job debunking the claim that billionaires pay less tax than the rest of us, too.
