  • Before returning home today I got this at Reno Airport. This paid for my round trip flight on Southwest and a rental car for 2 days, so with the 2 free nights at Sands my trip to Reno was free and I returned home with the same amount of money that I took there.

Posting a voucher doesn't tell anything. Did you start with $20 or $500?

      • I see, happy to oblige. I only inserted a $5 bill and as you can see on my first hand got the $200. I had a $100 that I was going to break into $20's but stopped with this hit. So technically it was a $195 net profit, not $200.

        • And before I cashed out, I played off $3.75 in order to cash out with an even $200.

          • And if I needed to break a $100, I would have only played one or maybe two $20's at most. The airport doesn't provide comps of any kind so it's futile to play much there.

Then I got another $10 certificate again today. Hope everything is still 50% off!

              • The other day I had two $5 bonus bucks for CVS as well as a $2 one, and various CVS coupons for things I usually buy, including $5 off of a $25 purchase. So I got my prescriptions and got my shopping done; most things on sale, cashed in my CVS coupons, had 2 $1 off manufacturers coupons, and with my bonus bucks I had saved over 70%. I left having had to pay only $11 total. I ended up with several cans of snacking nuts, granola bars, 2 bags of M&Ms that with manufacturers and CVS coupons which brought the price down to that of the same or less than the price of a regular individual bag. Can't remember what else I got.

I used to avoid getting any food products at places like CVS as I didn't realize how the stock rotated in and out so fast. Now I do it all the time. I pay less there by waiting for a good sale for my husband cereal than getting it at a regular grocery store where, sales usually involve buying multiple boxes to take advantage of the sale. When Jeff I think it was doing his eating on $1 a day blog/posts he used CVS heavily and that got me going to CVS a lot more, especially since I had to go often for medications anyhow.

                • Did you sign up as a "CVS Advisor Panelist"? That's a good way to get free gift certificate bucks from them. The last one I got was $10 for a 5 minute survey. They request for survey responses once every month or two usually.

                  • I just discovered another win from our vacation.

The first hotel we stayed in charged me less than the rate I had booked. I'm not sure how that happened but I'm not complaining.

The reservation was for $206 the first night and $224 the 2nd and 3rd nights (weekend nights). The actual bill only charged $206/night for all 3 nights. So with tax, we saved $41.47.

We also ended up with a free meal at that hotel on the last day. As Marriott Gold members, we can use the club lounge for breakfast, snacks, and drinks. On the weekends, the lounge isn't open so they give us a voucher for breakfast in the restaurant, but the voucher is only good for 2 people. In the lounge, they never care about how many people come in so the 1st morning, we all ate in the lounge for free. The 2nd morning, we went to the restaurant. DW and I were free and we paid $16 for DD. The 3rd morning, I was waiting for the check. The server came by and I said something and she said, "Don't worry about it. I have extra vouchers." So we saved another $16 from that.

Other than for recent visits surveys for a while I haven't gotten any surveys from them for awhile that actually pay anything. Last year within two weeks I had gotten $30 in Bonus Bucks for surveys, but I haven't heard of the Advisor panelist. I'll have to check into that. Thank you.

if you qualify and take their survey (and you should if you use mobile devices to order/pickup/make appointments or anything really normally done in the 21st century) they usually give you $5 or $10 in cvs bucks, no strings attached..

Thanks for the url! I went, did the initial survey and was accepted onto the panel.

In doing the initial survey, they mentioned that you could get apps for target, walgrens, walmart, etc. Anyone know about those? I have been having some trouble figuring out on my smart phone, but I do want to get the CVS app on it and if walmart has one that saves money, I want to be on that wagon as well We don't get a newspaper anymore, so no regular coupons. The last few times I got the Sunday supplements for the coupons, all the coupons were for stuff I didn't want or use.

I don't know about those stores and apps specifically, but a lot of those apps have coupons and stuff tailored to the individual. If it's a membership card type store, they will offer some sales on the items you tend to buy. I guess sorta similar to the CVS 10 coupon thing that prints out with your receipt. You buy deodorant or advil once, and get coupons forever more afterwards. lol

Which always makes me wonder why I get coupons for things like makeup that I don't wear or buy!

                              • I have gotten countless emails over the past few months for $10 off $10 when you use curbside pick up at CVS. I am embarrassed to say I've taken advantage of none of them. I could've easily saved over $100.
