Guys - my win for Monday December 15th is...I got my Coca-Cola dividend today. It was just like $60, but it was a win nonetheless. Especially because I started about three years ago accumulating a position with $5 increments of the stock. So, its a good way to start the week.

Going from $1699 per 6 months to insure 3 vehicles to $1290 per year for all 3 through Hagerty. I didn't think classic car insurers would insure a new vehicle or neo-classics, even if they are non-primary vehicles and treated like collectors. On the older cars I figure they'd have all the same hurdles and severe use-limitations that my current insurer does, but, they actually don't. I'm still a bit shocked and wished I'd have looked into this sooner. I received the quote online and called to verify that it was true/real.
I just had a spat with my current insurer during a small claim. I have an agent (cheapest policy I can find, and they still use agents...else I wouldn't have one..) I reached out to them for help and the response I got was basically wE'rE nOt ThE cLaiMs oFFiCe so it's going to feel good to lace up this boot and kick them in the rear.History will judge the complicit.

Echoing James' dividend win .... I received my dividend from one of the RELPs that I'm invested in -- 7% on my $250k investment, so the quarterly dividend was $4472. That kind of return just feels good, not to mention the property development & value growth that's still happening in the background.

This one feels a little blah .... But this week I received the so-called "warrior dividend" (actually part of a previously-approved a housing supplement) -- $1776 per active duty service member, tax free. I won't turn away the free money -- $1.7k is nothing to sneeze at & it'll cover some of our recent travel spending. But I would prefer to see a few billion dollars spent toward capabilities, or actually improving housing, or maybe even having less of a looming public debt ... But what do I know, I'm just a financially responsible citizen ....

This is the part that people need to be shouting. This money was already going to be paid. They just renamed it to make it seem like something new and special. Just a con job.Originally posted by kork13 View PostThis one feels a little blah .... * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Kork, There is absolutely nothing wrong with accepting the warrior dividend. Being in the service is frankly a challenge - the compensation is low relative to the private sector, you have limited autonomy over your personal space and personal expression, and most people have to take orders from idiots. At least you are putting the money to good use.Originally posted by kork13 View PostThis one feels a little blah .... So, here is a very, very minor win. I went out for a walk yesterday and found 11 cents on the ground. Its a double win because I got some exercise and found some $.
What I'm doing with the change is I save it up until I have like $5, then I deposit in the bank and use that for investing or debt reduction or whatever the immediate goal is.
