Is your city rioting?

I don't watch the local news so I don't know if there have been protests in the city, though I would assume so.

The ever-present racism in this country is deeply disturbing. People who aren't disturbed by it or think it doesn't affect them or think it only occurs in a far away land are all part of the problem. Having elected officials who actively encourage division and violence makes the problem even worse, though it was certainly present long before that.

I just don't know what it will take to have people stop judging others based solely on the color of their skin or country of origin or sexual orientation or gender or any other natural trait they happen to possess. Judge people based on their character, their actions, their words, their behavior - not what they look like or where they came from or who they love. Judge them on things that they can control, not things that they can't.

Goofy kids from the hood seemed compelled to destroy some windows last night. Nothing major. I much prefer MLKs approach to today's violence. MLK got more done through peaceful protests than this violence will ever accomplish.

When the faraway land is another city, you now there is a level of disconnectedness in our nation. Both issues are equal in value, but one might be slightly more demonstrative than the other. The virus can research and and a vaccine can be identified, while the other has been has been researched for over 400 and no one has came close to finding a cure. The city of Minneapolis is graphically far from me, but ethically the situation is so close to me. I wish others saw it that way, but I digress....the victim is an extension of our humanity...that should be so close to all of us.

In Los Angeles the rioting is no where near the scale of Minneapolis' rioting but very scary nonetheless. How bad is it in your city?
