The other thread on cars got me thinking... what is your most hated industry/line of business? Don't want this to get political, who do you hate dealing with the most?

Car dealerships? Lawyers/Politics? Dentists? Cable companies? Insurance? Banks? Airlines?

For me it's not even close: car dealerships are the biggest scumbags on the planet.

I think I'd have to put whole life insurance salespeople ahead of car dealers. At least car dealers are selling a valuable product and the problem is just negotiating the price. Insurance salespeople are selling complete and total crap and trying to convince you that you can't live without it.

Of course, the flipside is that you can just say no and walk away from the insurance person but if you want to buy the car, you need to deal with the car guy.

I absolutely agree with Life Insurance salespeople. At least because of the internet, car sales people have been forced to clean up their act.

Life Insurance salesman are the lowest people out there. They will take the average person who knows little about investing or the need for life insurance and end up having them buy millions of dollars of insurance they don't need or can't afford.

I cringe every time my Met Life person call's. Worst ever!

Don't forget politicians, they are the champs in this area.

That's not an industry or line of business so I wouldn't include that. Plus, never in my life do I have any reason to interact with politicians. They are easily avoided.

After speaking with a nephew today I'll vote payroll lending and tobacco. Both should be avoided perpetually, if only I could convince him of that.

The Quick Cash place is the closest place to me to renew license plates. I don't even like going in there for that!

Forgot about debt collectors. Some actually hire ex-cons on purpose.

I haven't had good luck with real estate agents, home improvement contractors, or large banks. All related to our last home purchase.

I had a disappointing experience with HVAC companies.

Each company told me something different for heating my basement. One company tried to sell me equipment for 1.5 times what their competitor quoted me on the exact same brand/models.

                        Wall Street & pharmaceutical companies.

Unbridled greed makes me very cranky.

Yup, but I did mention "politics/lawyers", should have said "politicians/lawyers" instead.

To me they are one and the same.

I haven't had any issues personally, but hearing aid dispensers and DME's seem to have a terrible reputation.

                              Durable Medical Equipment companies.

They have a reputation of drastically overcharging for medical equipment.
