    Re: Introduce Yourself

My name is Jacquelyn, I am 22 year old Single Mom and I live in Utah. I work full time in a Call Center and I have a part-time business that I am using to work towards my financial freedom. I live at home and my goal is to get a car and my own apartment while living on a budget and being frugal. That is why I found this website while doing an Internet Search.

    Glad to meet you all!

    Jacquelyn

P.S. I also take Online Classes at Columbia College.

      Re: Introduce Yourself

Hey everybody. I'm a 22 year old guy living in boston. I just finished an undergrad degree last year and will be starting a Pharm.D program this fall at University of Maryland in Baltimore. What this means is that I already have a ton of debt and will be accumulating a whoooole lot more before everything is said and done. I'm working a couple jobs now and trying to pay off the credit card that I had to use to live off of when I was going through the application/interview process (total hell).

        Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi, I just turned 30. I'm married to a very understanding and patient wife and we have a 6mo baby girl.

I have a BS in computer engineering, been doing unix and network security stuff for almost 10+yrs now. My only other interests are cars and racing besides computers...so you can see why I need help with saving money

I've been lurking for sometime and finally decided to join the party

Great to see more and more new faces. There's absolutely nothing wrong with lurking, although it's always great to have those that want to participate join the discussions. Both Nate and I are still a little surprised at the recent growth of the site, but extremely pleased.

I think that tax season is to frugality what New Year's is to weight loss.

                Re: Introduce Yourself

Well I have lurked a good bit here. I found a great deal of useful info here. I am now debt free as of two weeks ago and I intend to stay that way. I now use it up, wear it out, make due, and do without. I especially like days where I spend little if anything.

I have found out that the only way to win the credit card game is never to play!

Just signed up today. Oddly enough this board came up in my search for information on Emigrant Direct.

Just thought I'd post in here and say 'hi.'

Just signed up. I am not necessarily frugal, but I like to buy things at the best price possible.

                        Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello, I've been browsing this site for quite some time now (a few months) but never got around to registering for some reason. I don't know why since there have been a few things I wanted to respond to! I'm married, 28, and have owned a condo for a little over a year. Besides my husband, I also reside with a cat, a beagle, 3 cichlids (fish), 3 turtles, and 1 anole (lizard). Ask my husband, I'm obsessed with the finances and always trying to better things. We're just not good at saving though. We're bargain hunting junkies (clearance deals, yard sales, closeout stores) and that's a downfall for us. That and having my husband around is like having a little kid around: I want! I want! I want! He has gotten a lot better and stopped asking for so many things. Our main sticking point is 4K in credit card debt, partly dental bills that I'm waiting reimbursement on. It's currently sitting at 0% until April, but I may have just bought us time until June 2006. I'll know for sure in about a week. My car is another sticking point: the cost of the repairs it needs and the fact that i have another 14 months to pay on it.

Well, looking forward to getting more involved with this forum! I like the fact that there isn't a lot of fighting here. That's rare in most online forums.

                          Welcome

I agree - it is refreshing to visit a site that doesn't go off on too many tangents or tirades.

It's always a pleasure to see more and more people making their way to the site. It is nice that the people that have wandered this way tend to really want to help out others as well as picking up new hints and ideas along the way. I think that makes it a lot more easy going and helpful without the fighting. We aim to keep it that way as much as possible

                              Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi I am Beth and I have been lurking here for months! I am a single parent, recent empty nester, self employed and wah.

A few years back I employed gorilla tactics in order to get out of unsecured debt. Thankfully thats the state of my affairs today. Now, I worry about dd being away from home and though she works, I continue to find ways to send alittle for emergencies. She will graduate college in a couple of more years, will be glad to have that behind me and her!

I am learning to enjoy life though and persuing my passion for Thomas Kincade jigsaw puzzles! I put them together, glue them mat and frame them. Other then adjusting has been sorta tough. So I am finally participating in the boards that I enjoy and this is definitelya top fav.

Thats probably more then anyone cares to know, thank you.
