What Frugal Thing .....- Part II

I went to WM today and price-matched and used coupons. Saved around 40%

Made homemade spaghetti sauce as I thought I had some jar sauce (bought on sale) but didn't.

Tried to make homemade Gatorade, but tasted awful. Next time I will cut down on the salt.

Just wanting to check in.

Since I no longer need to help w/any of my Dad's care my entire schedule is changing. Due to the need to catch up on MUCH stuff at home (cleaning, batch cooking,paperwork) I have already

7 NO drive days
8 NO spend days this month

I am spending a GREAT deal less on gas. I am much strickter in evaluating if/where/when I shop. I have not even checked out Kohl's to see if I can/want use my 30% off coupon.

This is likely to continue ALL month.

As an addition to my last post:

tanked up my car on 3/15 - $44 but this was the first time in a MONTH. I had been spending $20/week on gas. I will be driving quite a bit the last week of the month & first week of April as I have 2 trips to DD1 (35 mi ea) and 1 to DD2 (80 mi).

that is what you get for having 3 grand kids w/bdays in 2 weeks. Glad the other 2 will be/are June & July.

I try to combine purchases I have to do.
That way I don't have to drive to a store every time I need something.
I write down what I need and then when I have a list of several items a drive to a shopping center.
It saves gas and thus money.
