50 states out of 50 plus DC.

A while back I bought a sheet of stamps (Greetings from America) that included a stamp from each state. My goal was to re-visit each state and send a post card to my grand niece&nephew. We had 2 left before COVID hit (MT and AK).

DH has been to 49 plus DC--never visited AK and he would really like to go. (sigh!) Maybe next year...

It's true. So many regional differences as you travel around, and so many big cities (Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin). Let's say you like visiting Presidential Libraries (we do). You can visit three in Texas (LBJ, both Bushes). We visited all 3 when we lived there (plus the Clinton library in Arkansas), but not on the same trip.

These are the ones I've actually spent time inside of. Either a multiple-day trip for work, or vacation. Layovers and touchdowns in others but I don't really count those if I've only seen the inside of an airport!

Clearly I have many more to visit!!

              Washington
              Oregon
              California
              Hawaii
              Nevada
              Arizona
              Texas
              Idaho
              Montana
              Wyoming
              Colorado
              North Dakota
              South Dakota
              Minnesota
              Wisconsin
              Iowa
              Illinois
              New York
              Massachusetts
              New Hampshire
              History will judge the complicit.

In addition to the 50 states, any international destinations on the bucket list? I've been to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Grand Cayman, Canada, Antigua, Denmark, & Sweden. Ireland for sure is on my bucket list as an international destination.

So many. Currently at the top of my list are Portugal and Argentina. Next international trip will probably be to El Salvador though, which we've been to already and love but haven't gotten to take the kiddo to yet.

                    Fun Question!

We did a good chunk of international travel in my late 20's and early 30's so I'll include those too.

**Samsies rules - Lay-over's do not count.
Michigan(Home),Hawaii, New York, Mass, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Arizona, California, Nevada (25)

(ones that are HIGH on my list that haven't been) = Colorado, Alaska, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and Montana. (all for nature stuff, parks, hunting, hiking, etc...)

                    Countries:
Canada - Vancouver, but mostly Windsor to Toronto area )
Australia - (cairns for the snorking the reef, + gold coast + sydney)
                    Costa Rico - Jaco beach
                    Dominican Republic - Punta Cana
                    Italy - Venice / Milan
Spain - Pamplona (we went for running w/ the bulls party!)
                    Monaco - Montecarlo
                    France - Italy, Versailles, Biarritz,
                    Netherlands - Amsterdam
                    Mexico - Monterrey
Thailand - Bangkok (No joke, got injured within HOURS of the trip and had the tip of my middle finger amputated in a boat accident. Spent 5 days in Mahachai hospital w/ my wife after 2 hand surgeries. I'm home safe n' sound, we got screw'd on the trip..... supposed to go to Phuket & koh fi fi for surfing n' scuba, and end in Bali Indonesia. But had to fly home in 5 days after my wounds were stable - Hell of a story ! )

My best friend and I are up to 14 states in our "50 in 50". We just did New Mexico, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque was an experience, and I recommend it to people that want to go.

But the 14 visited have been: Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Wyoming, New York, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin and New Mexico.

I've been to a bunch of states besides those, I think it would be easier to name the ones I haven't been to at all: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Dakotas, Oklahoma, Alaska and Hawaii. Alaska is on the docket for next year, and I'm stoked.

I hope you're doing 50 states in 50 months vs. days or weeks. Because racing through the country like that would be unfortunate. But 50 in 50 months? That sounds like a dream vacation!

Oh gosh no, it's 50 in 50 years. Which it won't take 50 years, but it's a nice moniker.
