  • The voters spoke ... They're tired of the DC insider, career politicians. Need to give Trump a chance and see what he can get done.

It's not like the previous several administrations have been doing a stellar job.

And as long as resources go to protecting Trump Tower because the first family refuses to move, I'm happy to have the money go to support my right to protest. (and even if it didn't, yeah wasn't there something about 'freedom of assembly' being pretty constitutionally important? Or is it only the 2nd amendment that matters?)
Providing resources to protect your right to protest is one thing. Using resources to get a couple of idiots off of a crane before they fall and kill themselves or someone else is another thing. You should absolutely be ashamed of yourself if you condone that type of behavior.

As for the rest of your Anti-Trump ramble, Fishindude is right on the money. He deserves a chance to see what he can get accomplished to benefit the country.

There are millions of people that feel the country needs someone like Trump to undo all of the nonsense of prior administrations. So many of you are so in denial with your moaning about the next 4 years. You might just get a reality check and have to deal with 8, not 4.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic that he may make some progress in reducing regulations that strangle businesses. The regulatory burden is insane, raises costs with no benefit, and stifles growth.

That said, I don't think progress there will be worth the price. Time will tell but a week in to this experiment, it's not looking promising so far.

Trump was in my area today giving a speech to the GOP retreat in Philly. In that speech, he made blatantly false statements about the city's murder rate. Sorry, I should have said he used alternative facts.

        • judging by the first week, disneysteve is going to win his prediction in about a month.

alternative facts, Trump relatives registered to vote in more than one place, unsecured emails and phones, cutting programs like grants for survivors of domestic violence, gag order on the FDA and EPA, closing the white house phone that takes comments, and I've barely touched the surface.

you can bet your ass, I will be organizing with local groups. I may not be able to march but I can lick envelopes with the best of them

          • You know I'm anti-trump but I am curious to see how this unfolds. One thing I'll give Trump is that a lot of people are scared of his craziness. Companies are now sucking up to him by advertising "we are adding more jobs in the US!" just incase he tweets about them and have their stocks sink 5%.

So maybe this is all a crazy tactic to get something out of nothing. He might be presenting people with absolute dog crap doomsday ideas and then asks for an alternative that is "less bad"...or maybe even looks pretty good just to avoid doomsday.

As for the environmental stuff..we may be doomed. Perhaps companies are willing to still go green since it's a very popular selling point. Letting supply/demand governs corporate environmental issues may be our best hope on that front.

              • I found this a good read, and I love the title. Surprise, Trump is doing what he said he would.

I have often called myself a republicrat as I feel both parties bring value to the good old USA.

The financial side of me likes what Trump is doing, America first, improving trade deals, energy independence, reducing govt employees, reducing govt spending, more JOBS! I think these are all a big plus over the previous administration.

The personal side of me, the guy that adopted neglected kids out of the foster care system is a bit nervous. But I haven't seen anything yet that makes me want to March on Washington! I have heard both repeal the Affordable Care Act and fix what is broken in the ACA, come out of the Trump camp. I am hoping for the latter.
The pipeline - bring it! as long as it is done in the most eco way possible which I believe it will.
huge military? As a veteran I don't think we need to grow our military at this time, I would rather focus on debt reduction.

What is this based on .... putting the brakes on the EPA?
This wonderful federal department blows $8 bil of our tax dollars annually. It's high time some of these agencies got their wings clipped.

When Obama took office in 1/09, the unemployment rate was 7.8%.
Near the end of his presidency in 11/16, the rate was down to 4.6%.

The historical median is 5.6% so unemployment is currently at a historically low level. There really isn't a lot of room for Trump to move the needle in this area.

I suggest you learn about the "not in labor force numbers" they continue to grow, grow, grow for those under 55.

Have you ever been to Beijing? 8 billion dollars well spent (0.2% of my tax dollars) if I don't have to breathe that air daily.

This is one, but I think more people are upset with politics spilling over into other threads that have nothing to do with politics.

                              • Isn't there any other news out there? I'm getting sick of Trump, Trump, Trump. My newspaper had 6 headline articles on the two inside pages. I've never seen so many articles in my life about one person in one edition of paper. ENOUGH already...move on to something else.
