Why? I can get the same biased nonsense from you here, and quite honestly I am not interested in hearing it.

I am going to focus my energy on other threads here. Feel free to ask an admin/mod to change the title to Anti-Trump discussions.

    • LoL. First press secretary speech to the press...cries about the crowd size. I thought the U.S was in shambles. Don't they have better things to do?

That was an interesting first WH press conference. Pretty much started with "Listen up Bitches!" And lit into the press without taking a breath

        • Trump has gotten the lowest initial approval rating for a new president in history. They've been doing this poll since 1953 with Eisenhower and Trump scored a 45% approval rating, the lowest ever in the 64 years they've been conducting the poll.

I suppose that's not really a big surprise and pretty much mirrors the vote. Trump got 46.1% of the votes (Clinton got 48.2%).

          * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
          * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

I'm not surprised. I didn't like either candidate. I don't even know anyone personally that liked or voted for either of them. Makes me wonder if Hillary would also have a low approval rating if she won.

I speculate she would depending on how hard Trump will push the "rigged system" idea.

A lot pundits believed Trump's rating would of been higher if he stopped attacking celebrities, wasn't a sore winner, and actually picked at least a few cabinet members that were not so polarizing. If he was more presidential and address the concerns of all the nay-sayers instead of calling them cry babies..I can probably see his approval rating breaking at least 50%.

The womens' march did seem to humble this government a little. Trump's second tweet about the march was more presidential and the press secretary wasn't tearing people's head off from yesterday's news conference. I think it's finally hitting him that no..you can't force more than 50% of the voters to be on your side by belittling them.

Seriously. You don't know anyone who voted for either candidate? That's disturbing. May I ask how old you and your peer group are?

I wonder how much the election outcome was affected by people just not voting because they didn't care for either candidate. Had they chosen one, might the outcome have been different?

                  Imagine that.

I'm in my 40's. My friends and family range from mid-twenties to early 70's. I think my in-laws may have voted and just omitted that fact, but everyone else ranged between apathy to feeling that not voting was a form of protest.

I doubt my group not voting affected anything. We are mostly Republicans and in the Chicago area. There was no way that Clinton was NOT going to get the Chicago vote. But I get what your point is. Other areas might have swung the other way.

                    • I meant to post this a couple of days ago. I have a prediction for Trump's presidency. Come back in 4 years to see if I was right.

I predict that Trump will sign a record number of Executive Orders (prorated by years in office).

                        +1 for that prediction

                        • I'm so tired of politics. This past election was draining. Facebook is currently clogged with political nonsense, and it's all that people want to talk about everywhere that I go.

I can't control what goes on in Washington. I'll be focusing on myself instead. I'll keep saving, investing, learning, and generally trying to better myself and my life. It's all that I really have control over.

It is my thread and I am tired of it as well. I wasn't happy 8 years ago, but I can guarantee you I wasn't spending hours and hours of my day complaining about it or climbing a 270 foot crane to protest.

I hope these morons do some serious time for their stupidity. By all means, get a permit and march down the street with your signs if you want to protest. The resources wasted on these type of stunts is absolutely infuriating.

                            • Sorry, you come for my rights, yes I will protest - loudly, as often as possible (funny how that works just like the NRA)

And as long as resources go to protecting Trump Tower because the first family refuses to move, I'm happy to have the money go to support my right to protest. (and even if it didn't, yeah wasn't there something about 'freedom of assembly' being pretty constitutionally important? Or is it only the 2nd amendment that matters?)

You do realize this reality tv star as president experiment is going to end very badly. We are only on day 6 and he has already used Twitter to cause an international relations issue. And he is pitting a war on the media, which is our ally in transparency. A free press is essential to a democracy and is not our enemy. By doubting journalistic standards because you don't agree with what they find, we are throwing ourselves over a cliff.

It will likely take decades to correct the damage done in the next 4 years, and some of it will probably be irreparable (like environmental stuff).
