Is Target Open on 4th of July 2021?

July 2, 2021 by Tamila McDonald

Is Target Open on 4th of July 2021?

For many people, the 4th of July is a time for celebration. They gather with friends and family to enjoy a great meal cooked on a barbecue and enjoy some fireworks. However, even if you are careful with your planning, there is always a chance you’ll need to make a last-second purchase. If you want to know if you’ll be able to head to Target on Independence Day in 2021, you may be wondering is Target open on the 4th of July 2021.

Is Target Open on the 4th of July 2021?

Yes, Target is open on the 4th of July. This includes the main shopping area, as well as any other inside services that are usually available on Sundays. However, if a particular service isn’t typically available on a Sunday, the 4th of July won’t be an exception.

Most stores will use their typical operating schedule, too. Generally speaking, that means being open from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm local time. However, different stores may use other schedules, so you’ll want to check with your nearest location to confirm when they are open.

It’s also important to note that some Target stores in certain areas may use reduced holiday hours if demand isn’t expected to support being open for that amount of time. If you’re worried that your Target may close early, it’s wise to check its schedule in advance.

Does Target Have an Independence Day Sale?

Technically, there is always a sale happening at Target. The discounts are all outlined in the store’s weekly ads, showcasing how much you can save on various items.

Near the 4th of July, you’ll usually find deals on foods and goods that fit with the season. Whether it’s hotdogs for the grill, beach towels for fun in the sun, or lawn furniture for lounging, you can likely find some decent discounts at Target this time of year.

Target 2021 Holiday Schedule

Just as you’d expect from a major retailer, Target doesn’t close for many holidays. However, that doesn’t mean it never happens.

Here is a quick overview of the Target store holiday closures in 2021:

  • Easter – Sunday, April 4, 2021
  • Christmas – Saturday, December 25, 2021

It’s important to note that, in 2020, Target did shut down for Thanksgiving, too. That was actually a break from the norm. As a result, it isn’t clear yet whether Target will close for Thanksgiving in 2021 as well. However, it could be a possibility, so it’s wise to keep that in mind this year.

Do Any Stores Close for 4th of July?

Most retailers typically open their doors and welcome customers on Independence Day. This includes, but isn’t limited to, stores like:

  • Best Buy
  • CVS
  • Home Depot
  • Kmart
  • Lowe’s
  • Macy’s
  • Rite-Aid
  • Sears
  • Walgreens
  • Walmart

However, there are some exceptions. For example, Costco is closed on Independence Day, and both Sam’s Club locations may close early on July 4th.

Additionally, this year, July 4th falls on a Sunday. Any retailer that isn’t usually open on Sundays, like Hobby Lobby, won’t be open on the 4th of July by default.

If you want to head to a particular store on any holiday, it’s always best to check in advance to confirm they will be open. That way, you won’t accidentally waste a trip if they are closed that day.
