How to Invest in Europe’s Alternative Finance Sector

March 1, 2021 by Susan Paige

If you are interested in investing in alternative financing in Europe, then P2PPlatforms.com might be worth checking into. The following is a brief review of their business.

What is P2PPlatforms.com?

P2PPlatforms.com is an online marketplace that links potential investors with the best P2P platforms in Europe. The company itself does not offer investments. It is merely acting as a marketplace where investors can shop for an investment from one of multiple websites.

There are two basic types of investment classes that users can link to. Peer to Peer lending and Crowdfunding.

Peer to Peer lending or crowdlending are groups of investors who are investing in loans for individuals, businesses, and real estate.

Crowdfunding allows the investor to own a part of what they are investing in. The most common investment is real estate.

Observations

The P2P Platforms website is straightforward in that the main page has a list of popular sites to invest in. Each site lists a few stats such as average returns, availability, minimum investment required, and a link to the site itself.

Each lending platform on the site also has a link that will take you to a detailed review of that particular lender. Pros and cons are listed as well as an in-depth overview of the business model and investments.

Scrolling down on the mainpage, you will find some basic information explaining the services, information on the products that the lending platforms are offering, and some answers to frequently asked questions.

Many of the lending sites are European. If you don’t live there or have a bank account in a European country, then you may not be eligible to participate in the investment offerings. I found some that are available basically worldwide, but you will have to comb through them to find them. Being American, this may pose some concerns.

Final Thoughts

P2P Platforms is an online marketplace that can guide investors to peer to peer and crowdfunding sites operating primarily in Europe.

The company itself does not offer investments, but from my early observations they do a good job of helping to guide investors to the various lending sites that they are networked with. The brief overviews of the various lending sites is helpful, but the real value is in the detailed review that P2P Platforms posts about each one of their lending partners.

Peer to Peer lending can be risky, and there are countless choices of where and who to invest with. P2P Platforms can help you navigate the waters and point you in the right direction. If you are interested in alternative investing in Europe, then I’d recommend checking out P2PPlatforms.com.
