Because Christmas Eve is on a Thursday this year, banks will be open. However, remember that many banks close early for Christmas Eve. While some only close an hour or two early, many of them close as early as noon. You’ll need to contact your individual bank or credit union to determine their holiday hours if you want to do your banking in person before Christmas.

Even though Christmas falls on a weekday, Friday, banks like CIT bank, etc will NOT be open on Christmas day. You’ll be unable to conduct in-person transactions. That means you’ll have fewer hours to do your banking as most banks close sometime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Call your specific bank to determine their hours.
