What’s The Big Deal About the Delta 8 THC Oil?

August 25, 2020 by Susan Paige

THC oil is getting more mainstream acceptance as the days go by due to its many therapeutic effects. There are several research projects dedicated to it, and with improved legalization of cannabis products, the future seems promising. Of late one cannabis extract, Delta 8 THC has been all over the news. So, what is this extract all about.

If you should know, the Delta 8 extract is the oxidized form of the common Delta 9 extract. Several news and blog articles are talking about the Delta 8, and its nothing short of praises when looking at its effects.

To understand more about this THC oil’s attention, we will have an in-depth look at it.

What Is Delta 8 THC Oil

Delta 8 THC is a minor cannabis extract, which means that it does not come by through natural synthesis in the cannabis plant. Rather, it is a product of oxidation of delta 9 THC, as earlier hinted. If you must know, delta 9 is the standard THC commonly found in cannabis strains like the Super lemon haze strain.

The two extracts have a lot of similarities when it comes to effects such as appetite stimulation and beating nausea. However, there are also notable differences, where the Delta 8 extract has mild psychotropic effects.

The Big Deal with Delta 8

The impressive thing with delta 8 is that it is milder than its counterparts when looking at the psychotropic effects. Paranoia is one of the side effects that many cannabis users dread as it brings on a channel of boundless and fearful thoughts.

This THC product does not lead to much paranoia, and as the word from some users, the paranoia is manageable.

To understand more about the attention, the delta 8 is getting, you have to look at its therapeutic effects.

Therapeutic Effects

Like all THC groups, the component in question acts on the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is connected to the neural system. The THC binds to the CB1 and CB2 binders in the central nervous system and brings about the following effects.

  • Pain relief
  • Improved appetite
  • Nausea management
  • Reduces anxiety and stress levels
  • It can help in conditions such as epilepsy, where it helps in the control of seizures.

The Technology Link

The discovery and appreciation of the delta 8 has a technological link, especially in plant breeding. We are in the age where we get high-grade cannabis strains through selective breeding, with strains such as super lemon haze being the result.

The oxidation of delta 9 brings about delta 8, and this is through storage. It is a precursor of what is to come in artificial cannabis synthesis and generally in selective plant breeding. With the right strategy, there is the potential to get cultivars with desirable effects and doing away with side effects such as paranoia and cottonmouth.

The vaping generation

Nowadays, it is cool to walk around with a vape as you puff on your favorite strain. The increased use of vapes has also contributed to the immense popularity of this strain. The millennial generation makes a huge percentage of vape users; when you bring their tech-savvy character to play, especially in social media, the strain gets a lot of attention.

There are Delta 8 THC oil cartridges in the market, and they are moving fast.

Legalization

You cannot overlook the effect of legalizing marijuana use in several territories in the popularity of this THC extract. The legislation in these countries relaxed the previous marijuana laws allowing for its consumption without risking a jail term.

It has greatly contributed to marijuana use being a mainstream topic, and users are trying out various strains to see which the best is.

Conclusion

Delta 8 THC has brought a lot of fanfare among the cannabis-user community due to its mild side effects, especially paranoia. It is a derivative of delta 9, and they share several characteristics, primarily the effects on the body.

However, you should be careful of this extract’s side effects as it causes a blood pressure spike before it drops to a low pressure. This fluctuation may be serious if you have a heart condition. Research is still going on to determine other therapeutic properties of delta 8 that can make it a typical substance in the medical field.
