Tips On How To Save AND Do What You Love

January 1, 2018 by Alexa Mason

When it comes to learning about finances, savings, credit, and more, you are usually told about all the sacrifices that you may have to make over everything else. Not only is this advice unrealistic, but it takes away the power from the individual to not only have the life they want, but to practice working towards goals and understanding the value of following through with said goals. When it comes to life, you only are given one from what we know so far, so it’s important that you take the life you have and invest your time into it and understand how important it is to look towards the future. It’s possible to have great credit, finances, savings, and more while also having the life that YOU want. If you want to read tips on how to do exactly that, keep reading.

The first thing you should do if you’re looking to become more financially responsible while also having a great life is to realize that life is all about sacrifices and decisions. If you want to take a trip more than you need two thousand dollars in the bank, it’s a great plan for you. However, it is important to be responsible with your money, but the two do not have to be mutually exclusive. Many times when you hear people talk about finances, they talk about everything that you have to sacrifice in order to get what you want. But, that isn’t exactly true. If you work towards any goal, even multiple goals, you too can get what you want without having to worry about the outcome as much. The best way to get the most out the life that you want to live, is to understand that you can have your cake and eat it too, but you do have to make sacrifices in some places for bigger goals.

The single most important thing that you can do if you want to become more financially independent and be able to do the things you love, is to make sure that you have a budget for everything as early as possible. A budget generally involves analyzing the money you are bringing in and where that money is going. If you want to become more financially independent, it’s impossible to do so without having a set budget and being intimately aware of your finances. Many people treat their finances without much thought, but a budget will give you the power to make the decisions that you want on the life that you want.

Your budget should have at least four different categories, which should include utilities and rent, groceries, savings, and “other”. These categories should be quite tight on your budget every month so that you know that you are spending the right amount of money, while also maintaining a great amount of money. A great idea, if you have more than one goal in mind like a savings account and a trip, is to simply get two separate savings accounts for them. Doing this will ensure that you’re able to do what you want, while also not skimping out on all your other goals. You should find ways to be frugal throughout your life, like with this Great Value Vacations coupon, which can give you more money for your budget, as well as give you a trip that you will love for less.
