Tomi Lahren was born on August 11, 1992 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Her life was fairly normal growing up. She graduated high school and moved on to graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2014.
During her time at UNLV Lahren was an associate producer and host for a television program put on by her university. The show, “The Scramble,” was Lahren’s first taste of being behind the camera and speaking her mind. She also interned for Republican Kristi Noem during her time at the university.
Lahren moved to San Diego shortly after graduating college in hopes of earning and internship with the One America News Network (OAN). In August 2014 “On Point with Tomi Lahren” debuted on OAN. It wasn’t until March 2015 that Lahren starting making waves in political news though.
In March 2015 Lahren commentated the Conservative Political Action Conference and made a remark that stirred a bit of controversy. She referred to the image of Republicans as “old, rich, white males.” She then went on to say that prominent Democrats are just the same. “Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden. Old, rich, white, and if the pantsuit fits … male too?”
Just a few months later in July 2015 Lahren caused an even bigger uproar when she made controversial statements about the Chattanooga shootings. On August 19, 2015 she announced that she would no longer be working with OAN. She moved to Dallas, Texas to work with TheBlaze (where she is employed now).
The conservative commentator has now become known for her three-minute segments at the end of her show called “final thoughts.” Lahren speaks rather quickly during these short rants and they’ve become wildly popular on social media.
