Hunter Mahan’s Career

Hunter Mahan was born in Orange, California on May 17, 1982 and was always interested in sports, especially golf. In fact, before Mahan became well known he had a great amateur career.

In 1999 he won the 5A Texas State High School Golf Championship and the U.S. Junior Amateur. Once he graduated high school Mahan moved on to the University of Southern California where he won Pacific-1o Conference Freshman of the Year.

He only stayed at the University of Southern California for one year before transferring to Oklahoma State University. While at Oklahoma he was a two-time Big 12 Conference Player of the Year as well as a two-time first-team All American. Also, in 2002, he was the runner-up at the U.S. Amateur and in 2003 he won the Haskins Award and the co-winner of the Ben Hogan Award.

In 2003, at the end of his collegiate golf career, Mahan turned pro and earned his PGA Tour card for the 2004 season. He obtained his first PGA Tour victory in 2007 at the Travelers Championship. This win brought Mahan into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

Since his first PGA victory Mahan has managed to gather six more wins and has become globally recognized but how does he stack up against other golf players in the wealth category? What is Hunter Mahan’s net worth?

Hunter Mahan's net worthObviously he’s not as popular as Tiger Woods but the pro golf player has made a name for himself (and created quite a bit of wealth). Hunter Mahan’s net worth sits at about $22 million.

The bulk of Mahan’s earnings have come from the PGA Tours that he’s competed in since 2004. During his first year on Tour Mahan made about $813,000. Now he’s making up to $4 million per PGA Tour (depending on his wins).

Although the PGA Tours and his winnings are what make up the majority of Hunter Mahan’s net worth he also has a number of sponsors. He endorses companies like Under Armour, Titleist , BioSteel Sports Supplements Inc., FootJoy , Ace Hardware, RBC Golf Pigeon, Clubface Golf, NetJets and Ping.

Mahan and his wife Kandi Harris live in Texas in a beautiful mansion that has been estimated to be worth $9.5 million. This also contributes to his overall net worth. He and his wife have one daughter; Zoe Mahan.

The pro golfer doesn’t seem to have any plans of retiring any time soon so don’t be surprised if Hunter Mahan’s net worth continues to climb in the years to come.
