Tyga’s Net Worth

November 3, 2016 by Amanda Blankenship

Tyga's Net Worth
Tyga has been in the spotlight for years due to his rapping career. However, in more recent years, Tyga has been in the news because of his relationship with Kylie Jenner and his involvement with the Kardashian/Jenner family. Because he is involved with such a wealthy family you may be wondering what is Tyga’s net worth?

Tyga’s Profile:

  • Net worth in 2016: $2 million
  • Profession: Rapper
  • Age: 26
  • Source Of Wealth: Music Career
  • Residence: Calabasas, California
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
  • Marital Status: Single
  • Education: Gardena High School

Tyga’s Career

Tyga was born Micheal Ray Stevenson on November 19, 1989 in Compton, California. He lived there until he was 12 years old and moved to Gardena, California where he graduated high school.

Like many rappers, Tyga began releasing mixtapes at the beginning of his music career. His debut mixtape “Young on Probation” was released in 2007. Tyga’s first mixtape got enough attention that he he was able to land a record deal with Young Money Entertainment. He has released many mixtapes since then and continues to work on them now.

“No Introduction” was Tyga’s first independent album. It was released in 2008. One song from the album “Diamond Life” was featured on “Need for Speed: Undercover” and “Madden NFL 2009.”

Tyga’s second studio album “Careless World: Rise of the Last King” was released in 2012. Some of his biggest hits, like “Faded” and “Rack City” came from that album. He went on to make two more studio albums with Young Money Entertainment.

This year fellow rapper Kanye West announced that he signed Tyga on with GOOD Music, a recording company underneath Def Jam Recordings. With so much success within such a short period of time you may be wondering, what is Tyga’s net worth?

Tyga’s Net Worth

Tyga's Net Worth
The majority of Tyga’s net worth comes from his rap career. His net worth is only $2 million. Practically every penny of his net worth has come from the sale of his albums and concert tickets (he makes about $50,000 per performance). In addition to the money coming in from his rap career, Tyga also operates a clothing store in Los Angeles called Last Kings.

Tyga’s relationships have been something that media outlets throughout the world have covered. In 2011, Tyga met model Blac Chyna and they began dating. The couple had a son named King Cairo Stevenson. After Blac Chyna and Tyga separated he began dating Kylie Jenner and making regular appearances on the show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” It is rumored, however, that the rapper only dated and moved in with Kylie to get free rent because he’d fallen on hard financial times.

The rapper lives lavishly. Tyga rents out $6 million mansions in California. He also went out and bought his beau, Kylie, a Ferrari for her birthday (a $300,000 car). Tyga has a number of flashy cars that he drives around as well and is known for going to the club and dropping huge amounts of money in a single night.

More recently Tyga was in the news for owing a Beverly Hills jeweler $200,000 plus interest on jewelry he’d bought for Kylie. The jeweler took a judgement out on the rapper and Tyga was forced to pay the debt to spare Kylie any further embarrassment. He will be finished paying the debt off by November 17, according to TMZ.

He has not been on the scene as long as some of the more wealthy rappers, which is why Tyga’s net worth isn’t a huge number. However, his recent signing with Def Jam Recordings will likely positively affect his net worth.
