Does Walmart Have a Wedding Registry?

September 13, 2016 by Jennifer Clark

Walmart Wedding Registry

Are you familiar with the wedding registry at Walmart?

Throughout the year, couples are choosing to commit to one another for the rest of their lives. In fact, according to Today’s Bride, the most popular months to get engaged are December, July, August, and October. If you are in the process of planning your wedding, congratulations! You are most likely looking for places to have your wedding registry.

Although the average wedding in the United States costs anywhere from roughly $27,000 to $31,000, many couples keep their expenses below $10,000. Bridal registries help loved ones celebrate the union of these two people coming together as well as stock their new home with wish-list items.

When planning your registry, some do’s and don’ts in etiquette to follow include:

  • Do choose a variety of gifts at different price points. The last thing you want to do is choose a bunch of gifts that your guests cannot afford. People also like having multiple options as they sometimes want to purchase multiple items for you.
  • Don’t just ask for money. It’s great if people offer to just give you cash, but it is considered a faux pas to request it for your wedding instead of gifts.
  • Do write your thank-you notes promptly. Within two months following your wedding, personalized thank-you notes should be sent out. Steer clear from electronic thank-you’s.
  • Don’t be afraid to register for non-traditional gifts. While people do expect to get you classic gifts, it is OK to sign-up for ones that represent your relationship.

Walmart offers both convenience and variety across the nation. With online shopping options and some supercenters open 24/7, Walmart provides a large selection ranging from items for the home, including decor and furniture, to electronics and groceries. Seemingly, this chain store would make a great option for a married couple-to-be to register gifts with its low prices and options. But, does Walmart have a wedding registry?

Yes, Walmart does, in fact, have a wedding registry.

Many retailers have a mobile app for your registry that you can access at any time, and Walmart is no different in that way. Through this app, you can scan items in-store to also include. In addition, The company makes sure to inform people through images of items what prices are reduced, which are bestsellers, and the featured brands.

Those looking to purchase personalized gifts for the newlyweds are able to do so as well through Walmart’s wedding section. Consumers may opt to have the gifts shipped to their homes or pick-up in the store.

If you are a couple needing to stick to a budget for your guests or you are looking for variety, Walmart may be an excellent option for you. Your wedding will be one of the biggest days of your lives, symbolizing the start of a new journey. Your loved ones will want to shower you with gifts, so they may appreciate having less expensive options from which to choose. If nothing else, Walmart could be great to include with another higher-end registry to mix things up.

Are you getting married? Where do you plan on registering, or where did you register?
