Paula Deen Net Worth: ‘I Never Cook Naked’

April 13, 2016 by Amanda Blankenship

Paula Deen Net Worth
Paula Deen has been in the spotlight for many reasons. At first, she was in the spotlight for her down home Southern cooking, then she was given attention for her less-than-savory remarks about a member of a wait staff at one of her restaurants and now Paula Deen is at it again. She just launched her very own clothing line called “I never cook naked.”

Deen, known for cooking with astronomical amounts of butter, is know serving up some fashion to increase her annual salary a bit more. After her remarks about the wait staff, Deen has been having a hard time getting companies to sell her items or people to support her show. However, the clothing line will be an all-new way for Deen to get back on top of her finances.

“I never cook naked” is something Deen has wanted to do for a long time. According to the New York Daily News, the 69-year-old chef said that creating her own clothing line is something she’s always wanted to do. Deen said that she is often asked where she buys her clothes and now she wants to make her style available to people throughout the world.

The line will consist of a lot of flowy clothes as well as bright colored clothing. Deen said that the line will also cater to the shapes of everyday women. She said most clothing lines cater to the banana shape, but Deen said most women are actually “apples” or “pears.” “I never cook naked” will camouflage any extra weight a woman is carrying around.

This move is not the first Deen has made outside of the kitchen. Though she is still a chef and a cookbook author, Deen has also starred in “Dancing with the Stars” as well as launched her own furniture and cookware lines. It seemingly only makes sense that she would launch a clothing line next.

Television chef Paula Deen started cooking when she began to suffer from agoraphobia. She was forced to stay home and she turned to cooking for comfort. Eventually her cooking spun into a catering business and then a restaurant business and she was discovered by the Food Network. She became extremely popular and her career took off quickly until 2013 when allegations about Paula Deen arose.

Deen is no longer on the Food Network or any network television station cooking after she allegedly called a member of the wait staff at her restaurant the N-word. However, she has continued her cooking show through an online program. In addition to her online program, Deen has clearly been staying busy trying to find new and innovative ways to keep her name alive.

Despite any troubles Deen has faced, she has managed to keep afloat. Her current net worth stands at about $14 million. However, it is unclear as to whether or not the N-word incident will continue to hurt the chef. The effects of her new clothing line have yet to be seen on the star’s net worth though. The line just hit the market this week. “I never cook naked” is now currently available on evine for purchase.
