How to Play McDonald’s Money Monopoly 2016

March 29, 2016 by Amanda Blankenship

How to Play McDonald's Monopoly
Albertsons’ Monopoly is coming to an end quickly, however, many people in America (and throughout the world) have turned their attention to McDonald’s Monopoly game for another chance to win $1 million. The Monopoly game pieces are available on a majority of the items you buy from the McDonald’s menu. Each piece may give you a chance to win the grand prize.

Cash prizes range from $25 to $1 million. There are also “free food” prizes. There are two “instant win” prizes: $25 check and $50 check. You can also get instant free food:

  • Medium Fries, ARV: $1.91, Odds 1 in 10
  • Quarter Pounder® with Cheese, ARV: $3.94 or Premium Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich, ARV:
  • $4.69, Odds 1 in 26;
  • McGriddles®, ARV: $2.94, Odds 1 in 18
  • Small McCafé® Frappé, ARV: $2.53 or Smoothie, ARV: $2.51, Odds 1 in 30
  • Regular McFlurry®, ARV: $2.66 Odds 1 in 39

Cash prizes include:

  • $25 Cash
  • $50 Cash
  • $500 Cash
  • $1,000 Cash
  • $2,000 Cash
  • $5,000 Cash
  • $10,000 Cash
  • $25,000 Cash
  • $50,000 Cash
  • $1,000,000 Cash

The first thing you’ve got to do to win McDonald’s Monopoly is go to McDonald’s and buy some food. Certain foods, however, will give you more “peels” (more Monopoly game pieces) than others. Some foods give you four, others give you two.

Foods that give you two Monopoly pieces include:

  • 10-piece McNugget
  • Filet-o-Fish Sandwich
  • Big Mac
  • Medium and large McCafe iced and blended beverages
  • Large McCafe iced coffee and extra large Minute Maid orange juice
  • Medium fountain drinks
  • Fruit & maple oatmeal
  • Egg, sausage, or egg and egg white delight McMuffin sandwiches
  • Hash browns
  • Premium McWrap

Four-peel foods include:

  • 20-piece McNugget
  • Large fries

However, you don’t necessarily have to buy anything to enter the McDonald’s Monopoly contest. Similar to the Albertsons’ Monopoly game, you can send in a mail request for game pieces without purchasing anything. Send a self-addressed and stamped envelope to 2013 MONOPOLY Game at McDonald’s Game Piece Request P.O. Box 49419 Strongsville, OH 44149-0419. All mail-in requests must be post-marked by April 25 and received by April 30 to receive game pieces for a chance to win.

If you are looking to collect game pieces in order to win, you should get a game board. Game boards are available at most McDonald’s locations throughout the duration of the game. When you get a new piece, peel the back and stick it on the corresponding spot on the board. This isn’t a requirement, but it will help keep you organized throughout the duration of the game.

As always, don’t spend too much money trying to win the game (it defeats the purpose). Keep in mind that no prizes, other than food prizes, can be claimed at a McDonald’s restaurant. All prizes must be claimed by May 27 online or through the mail. Best of luck!
