Nancy Reagan Net Worth

March 7, 2016 by Amanda Blankenship

Nancy Reagan Net Worth
News of the passing of the former First Lady Nancy Reagan has saddened many people throughout the United States. Reagan was one of the most iconic first ladies to have ever taken office with her husband, Ronald Reagan. The pair were looked on as one of the most beloved couples in the country.

Nancy was known as the “little giant” behind Ronald when the couple took on the White House. She died on March 6, 2016 at the age of 94 due to heart failure. She and her husband met one another while they were actors in Hollywood. They were far from the typical Washington D.C. presidential couple, however, they became some of the most beloved people in the country over time.

She first became First Lady of California when her husband served as governor from 1971 to 1975 (California is no stranger to celebrity governors). He was elected as President of the United States in 1980 and the couple moved across the country into the White House to serve America.

The former American actress was not well-known for her parts on-screen but rather for her part she played in changing America. Her “Just Say No” campaign took the U.S. by storm and it seemed that everyone was talking about what the first lady wore. She always had some of the most beautiful clothes on at all times. She is also said to have had a substantial say in the decisions that Ronald made in the White House, especially in his later years.

Throughout her husband’s time in office, she stood by him, expressing nothing but love and support for his every move. After assassination attempts and an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Nancy continued to stand by Ronald with undying faith and love. She cared for her husband until 2004 when he died. She continued to stay active in the community, especially through the Reagan Library.

She also continued to stay active in politics even after her husband died. She was seen at various ribbon-cutting ceremonies, accepting awards on Ronald’s behalf, going to luncheons at the White House and even speaking out about causes that she felt strongly about. Nancy also often expressed her support of stem cell research and often gave money to support the cause. She will likely be remembered as a first lady who truly impacted the U.S. in a positive way.

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is said to have had a net worth of $25 million at some time. However, at her time of death Nancy’s net worth was $15 million. She is one of the wealthier of the first ladies, however, her net worth came from both property in which she and Ronald held as well as her earnings during her early years as an actress. Her net worth at her time of death was compiled of the worth of her and Ronald’s home in Bel-Air in which they both spent their last days.

Her net worth at the time of her death is likely to be split among her children. Although she is gone, Nancy’s legacy will live on through them as well as the various projects she supported throughout her life: Just Say No, stem cell research and the Reagan Library.
