Bathroom Items That Save Money

February 15, 2016 by Alexa Mason

It seems there is always a reason you are looking for the perfect gift. Bathroom items may seem like an odd thing to get someone. However, the can be some of the best gifts. Not only are they useful, but these bathroom items can actually help save you money!

High Efficiency Shower Heads

High efficiency shower heads are a great way to conserve water and save money. So many people are guilty of wasting water, especially in the shower. With a high efficiency shower head, you can save up to 15,000 gallons of water a year. The shower head reduces the amount of hot water that flows through the water heater and the shower head. This will save you a decent amount of money in energy costs. A high efficiency shower head usually costs between $10 and $20, and it will save you around 25% on your water or energy bill.

Low-Flow Sink Faucets

Replacing your standard bathroom sink faucets with a low-flow faucet will also save you money on energy and water. You need less water pressure in your sink faucet than you do in your shower, so you won’t be sacrificing too much. Like a high efficiency shower head, a low-flow sink faucet cuts down on water usage, saving you money on your water and energy bills. Not to mention, replacing your sink faucet is also relatively inexpensive.

Self-Cleaning Electric Shaver

While this might seem like a somewhat pricey expensive at first, imagine the money you’ll be saving on replacing shaving cream, disposable razors, or razor blades. Shaving cream can aver at least $5 and razor blades, depending on the brand, can range between $5 and $10. It might take you a couple of months to break even in terms of saving money, but a self-cleaning electric shaver will last you for years. So, you’ll definitely be getting your money’s worth in the end.

Waterpebble

A Waterpebble is a unique device that tracks how long your showers last and then lets you know how much water you’ve used. The first time you turn it on, it times the length of your shower. During your next shower, it lets you know how long you’ve been showering, and it slowly cuts down on your shower time in an effort to help you reduce the amount of water you’re using. This is a great little gadget that encourages you to spend less time in the shower so you can save money on water and energy bills.

Toothpaste Squeezer

Do you hate not being able to get every last drop of toothpaste out of the tube? You’re probably losing about half a week’s worth of toothpaste each time you throw out the tube. A toothpaste squeezer is usually only a couple of dollars and will not only squeeze that extra toothpaste out of the tube, but will save you from having to constantly restock your toothpaste.

Faucet Water Pressure Counter

There are many different types of water pressure counters you can place on your bathroom’s sink faucet. The purpose of this device is to track how much water you use each time you use your sink faucet. Of course, any pressure counter will alert you when you’re using more water than necessary. This is to help you conserve water and, like many other products on this list, is aimed at helping reduce the amount of money you spend on water.

Perfect Flush

Depending where you live, you might have entered a public bathroom and seen eco-friendly toilets designed to reduce water and waste. While an eco-friendly toilet might not be financially feasible for everyone, the Perfect Flush device is the next best thing. It’s designed to help reduce the amount of water used when flushing the toilet. The Perfect Flush provides two options: flushing a full tank of water or a half tank. Using the half tank option saves 50% of the water you would normally use when you flush.

Tankless Water Heater

A tankless water heater will also help you save money and conserve water. While this is an upgrade to a traditional water heater, it will benefit you tremendously. A tankless water heater heats water faster and on-demand. It doesn’t store hot water in a tank, instead sending hot water whenever you need it. Additionally, traditional water heaters account for 30% of your energy budget, and tankless water heater can cut that number in half.

Flush Converter

A flush converter is a device around $30 that you place inside your toilet tank in order to regulate water waste. You can reduce your water bill by 10% and save about 15,000 gallons of water a year! A flush converter provides you with two options when flushing: one for liquid waste and one for solid waste. Water is regulated depending on the choice, using one gallon of water to flush liquid waste and 3 ½ gallons to flush solid waste.

Warm-On Pebbles

Warm-On Pebbles are designed to detect the warm temperature of your water and reheat it without forcing you to drain the cold water and fill the tub with warm water. When the water starts to cool down, the pebbles turn on their heating system and warm that water right back up!
