The 2015 Nevada Day Parade will be held on Saturday, October 31. This will last around three to four hours. Nevada Day is a grand celebration commemorating Nevada’s admission to statehood on October 31, 1864. Nevadan’s have been known to hold the largest statehood celebration in the nation, with events all weekend, the biggest being the Nevada Day Parade.
Nevada Day is a state holiday presently set on the last Friday in October; the parade will take place on the Saturday the next day. The state holiday will be observed on Friday, October 30 this year. Coincidentally, for the first time in years, the Nevada Day Parade takes place on the “real” Nevada Day, Saturday, October 31, 2015 — celebrating Nevada’s 151st anniversary of statehood.
The celebration, being the largest of its kind, is kept alive by generous donations and volunteers. Nevada Day even has its own nonprofit organization, Nevada Day Inc., to keep the celebration going each year. Any money gathered for the parade and the celebration goes directly into the Nevada Day celebration or back into the community.
