Just wondering, from the SA Blogs, why MTurk (Amazon.com) is not on your list of survey sites.

I thought the exact same thing. I clicked thinking "let's see how funny this china-english scam post is written!"Originally posted by Wino View PostI'll admit that when I saw the title to your post, I figured "scam seller trying to lure in victims." Then I read your post. Very well thought out and good information. I know a lot of people who can make money doing this and who have the time and the need. I wish there was some way to help someone get started in this from Dubai. I'll check out your site later when I can free up some time.
Goes to show I am one of the misinformed you mention!

This is unreal to me. Even with 20 panels, it is almost impossible to earn $200 per month because most of these survey sites does not provide paid surveys regularly. I have worked in some legit paid survey sites like acop. After signing up, they gave me a survey and after that, till now I am yet to get another survey.

It's not easy. I guess it depends on the 20 that you belong to. I highly recommend checking out disneysteve's blog Thoughts, observations, tips & advice on living below your means, staying out of debt, etcDisneysteve's Common Cents Blog as it's a goldmine of paid survey insights.

Keep in mind that the surveys I do are professional surveys. They are not available to the general public. You must be a practicing physician to be eligible. So I'm not sure how useful my experience is to the average person.Originally posted by surveyspencer View PostIt's not easy. I guess it depends on the 20 that you belong to. Another option for surveys is to see if there are any local research companies in your area. Sometimes they are looking for people to physically come in to the facility and other times it can be done electronically. Local research centers pay far better than any online survey site I've ever seen, although you won't get offers nearly as often. The one I'm on the mailing list for, my company actually uses for testing advertising effectiveness, but I've also seen them do product testing (not drugs/creepy creams/etc but truly testing the usability of a new product a company is marketing) and sometimes surveys about things you might already have in your home. I've seen payment be anywhere from $25 to $100 (usually looking for a very specific demographic) for in person and anything from gift card entries to $50 for online.
I don't live in a big area either, and even though I've moved away from the town where they do the testing, I'm still in the state and still eligible for the online stuff.

I am also a stay at home dad and I am looking to bring a little something home as well. But the only survey websites that I can find pay with paypal, gift cards, or a points system. Does anyone know of any survey sites that pay via check mailed to your home I would very much appreciate it. I am in the U.S.

Which is why it is important to determine ahead of time if taking the survey is worth your time. I only take survey's now that are informational for companies that I shop at. However, I know my son takes survey's that doesn't pay much because to him it is worth his time and he likes getting gift cards for gas, etc. I wouldn't spend the time on those though. But he is single, already works one full time and one part time job, but since he lives at alone he likes staying busy doing something and would rather make a little bit than nothing at all.All of the recent surveys that I have taken were terrible and under paying.
A $2 survey that takes you an hour to do isn't worth the time, especially since there are other ways of making more on line in the same amount of time. Look for those. However, if you know a survey company also gives out big rewards it can be worth it to take the lower paying survey just to be in their system so you are in line to get the bigger surveys. I used to do book reviews for Amazon just because I felt like it with no incentive, and then one day had an offer to be part of their Vine review program. I thought it would be just books, but I have gotten other items to review and KEEP, including a color laser printer, other office supplies, and then I got asked to help with another program for them and earned a $350 Amazon gift card and then other book promoters are sending me requests for more books to review! I'm not sure I will ever have to check a book out from the library again and if they would only send me books on sewing and related needlework, I would probably never have to buy a book again! So things CAN build up if you stick to it.

Paid surveys are fine, but there's more money in secret shopping
I just finished reading the post about The person who made money, $450 in a week, taking surveys. That is absolutely possible, but you will find that just taking surveys to reach that amount of money per week is extremely time consuming. The average survey pays anywhere between $.50 to $5.00 with some of the more in depth surveys paying higher than that but generally taking a long time to complete. As you can imagine, averaging $2.00 every 15 minutes isn't nothing, but it also wouldn't be a fast track to $450.
Your best bet is to make sure you sign up for plenty of legit paid survey sites. Avoid the scams as there are plenty of them out there. The more legit surveys you sign up for, the more money is available to you. If you only sign up for one site, you'll find you run out of surveys you are invited to participate in quickly. More sites is always more money. (Remember you don't have to take all the surveys available to you and you make your own hours).
There are plenty of other ways to supplement your survey taking income though. One of the best is to become a secret shopper (mystery shopper). Simply put, a secret shopper shops some where and fills out a survey afterwards that asks about their shopping experience. There are plenty of scams for this too, but the good sites are great! Find yourself a good trustworthy site that links you with legit non-scam companies and paid survey sites and paid shopping sites and bookmark it. Use an autofill software to help you sign up for sites with the click of your mouse and you'll save a lot of time.
