When I was working full time as a nurse, I got high paying surveys from Brand Institute which paid between $25-50 a survey at he time (almost 20 years ago), but never got as much as some. I think in large part it depends on how much time you have, your vocation such as nurses, doctors, etc. might get more highly paid medical surveys. I would get them to compare a potential new drug name and does it sound similar to drugs already on the market, does it look similar when written, that sort of thing. Obviously not something that someone who doesn't work in a medical area would be able to do. But for someone that has nothing else to do at home, do what you can and survey the internet for the better surveys that will pay you more.

        no cpa

What about some survey sites that don't have a cpa attached to them spencer? Do you know about them or just the panthera ones?

Ones with cpa attached or affiliate commissions, have a lower payout. At least this has been what I have seen in the last 5 years. Since the company has to pay you to promote them.

        your "list" is affiliate based.

Taking surveys for higher $$$ is the way to go, then you take the surveys everyone else is taking.

How do I know this? Cause its what I do.

I have NO clue what you are talking about. What is a CPA (other than an accountant), what is panther? If taking surveys for higher dollars is the way to go, then why take the same surveys as everyone else? Aren't they the lower paid surveys everyone complains about? What do you mean about affiliate based surveys?

Can you try to repost this information with complete sentences and paragraphs so we can actually understand what you are saying? Seems way to many people think everyone understands what they are saying, but I don't recall ever bumping into your terms in relation posts about surveys on line. Many read this thread hoping to find a way to put some more dollars into their impoverished pockets, but yours needs some fuller explanations to be helpful, in my opinion.

Over the last 18-months I've made an average of more than $450 per month from online surveys alone. No, $450 isn't going to pay the bills, but it can pay ONE bill (in my case, car payments).

Yes, it took hard work and dedication but it was worth it. In this post I'm going to show you exactly how I did it.

While a lot of this advice can be found in some way or another, I wanted to put it all in one place so people here at SavingAdvice.com so that everyone could get value from it.

Step 1: Join the Right Survey Sites

The biggest mistake paid survey newbies make is that they join scammy survey sites, get burned, and quickly give up. Ever since I started with paid surveys a few years ago, I've been VERY choosy with the sites that I join. If I see a lot of bad reviews I usually move on to another site.

Here are the panels that send me the best-paying surveys most often (in no particular order):

                Ipsos I-Say

                NPD Online Research

                Global Test Market

                Inbox Dollars

Pincone Research (hard to get into but amazing if you can do it)

                My View

These are just a start, however. To get past the $250 per month mark you have to join AT LEAST 20 panels.

Don't get burned! NO survey site ever asks for any payment whatsoever. Make sure that the sites you do join are 100% free and you can do no wrong.

                Step 2: Get Organized

I'm naturally a messy guy. My desk is littered with coffee cups, wrappers and papers. But when it comes to surveys, I have my stuff together.

I'm talking about spreadsheets, schedules, calenders...the works.

You don't need to get organized to do well, but I the more organized you are the most surveys you'll fill out and the more money you'll make.

At a very basic level you should:

-Have a dedicated email address just for surveys (unless you want your regular inbox filled with junk)

-Sync that email with your phone (the best payment surveys "sell out" quickly so you need to move quick if you want to get in on the action).

-Simple spreadsheet that tracks your points at different sites so you know how close you are to cashing out

-Use Roboform or another web tool to help you register/log into each site in seconds

                Step 3: Work It

There's no secret to making the most from paid surveys: you need lots of "butt in chair time". At first you'll love taking surveys...but after a few days it will start to feel more like work.

There will ALWAYS be something more interesting than filling out surveys (Facebook, TV, email etc.). The few people I know that pull in $200 or more per month from surveys really work hard.

That means tuning out ALL distractions and filling out as many surveys as possible during your free time. When I'm feeling especially dedicated I even set off certain hours of the evening just for paid surveys. Trust me, during "survey time" I make significantly more than when I'm just fooling around with surveys.

                Step 4: Keep It Real

My best months have one thing in common: I was invited to a number of special surveys, product tests or focus groups.

Every now and again a panel will send out invites to participate in VERY high-paying survey (up to $75 in my case). And you know what? They're fun! Yes I'm a big nerd...

Anyway, the moral of the story is to do your best with the surveys you qualify for. If you just rush through them, the panel will take notice and a) not pay you for that survey and b) not invite you to higher-paying surveys and online focus groups.

I know it sucks spending an hour on a $5 survey, but it's worth it when you realize the opportunity they can open up.

                Step 5: Get Serious

The most important thing I ever did was set goals for my survey "career". At first, I would just take as many surveys as I could per month. But I found that my focus wavered and I never felt great about how much I accomplished (I'm sure you've felt this before).

At first I set my goal for $200 per month. And you know what? I hit is almost on the dot!

So then I took it up a notch to $250...and reached that too.

Then I said to myself "I'd like to make $300, but there's no way that's possible"...until I made it.

Now I think I'm finally approaching the ceiling for monthly paid survey income...but I still set my goals higher every month and hit them...so who knows?

I know there's a lot of confusion and misinformation out there about paid surveys so I hope this helps you on your journey. Feel free to post in the thread if you have a question.
hi Spencer!Maybe the correct title should be "How I make $450 promoting surveys websites".

How many hours do you actually work for the money? The pay is indeed good, but if you need to put a lot of hours into this each month, then other ways would be more lucrative. Anyway, kudos to you for this

The OP indicated that he worked hard at it, but if he is doing this after work in the evenings instead of watching TV or maybe doing both combined, then he is making money without having to source or send products, doesn't have to do physical labor, and can do it in the privacy of his home with snacks, bathroom, and his favorite music playing, why not? I know my son does several survey sites as well. He doesn't make a whole lot, but he is single, works 6 days a week but he likes doing it on his free time, and likes earning the little extras that he does and he doesn't have to sign up for another job to coordinate with his other 2 jobs as well.

I think this depends on the time you have to devote to it. It seems like it takes a lot of time to build up a healthy roster of survey sites to be part of, but once that's done you can't count on making more than $100 per month which may not be worth the time compared to a steady part-time job (I know it's apples to oranges, but I'm just saying).

In order to make it a viable income solution the hourly rate is important: if you earn 1 buck/hour, then you'd better work a second job at a fast-food joint, at least you get benefits from there and I presume a better pay. Whenever taking on some jobs, it's important to see how much work you actually put into this. I for instance earn 10 times the 'regular' hourly rate in my country for my web design (the wages here are very small and I work 'internationally' mostly). So in my case it's a good deal. If my earnings were similar to what I'd get into a regular job, I'd probably take the job and have my employer worry about most of the stuff, instead of me running my business, paying all my taxes, worrying about clients etc.

I'd actually love to try this, but would like to know if it will take me 50 hours of work to earn 100 bucks, so that I can pursue something more lucrative

One of the reasons that when we go out for jobs that we need a higher wage is to pay for the things that you don't need if you stayed home, like gas to get there, possibly daycare, work appropriate clothing (instead of your jammies if that is what you feel like), calculating in less time to do those frugal activities that save money, etc.

If I was set up to do surveys at the same time I'm watching TV the dollar per hour argument doesn't apply, since how much does someone earn while watching TV? Depending on someone's work, they may need an 'easy' sit at the computer job doing surveys on their off time, since their regular job might be very demanding. Some people spend plenty of time on the computer doing Facebook, Pinterest, computer games, etc. Most of the time, those activities don't earn any money either. So it comes down to would I rather make some money during the times I'm usually not earning any or just waste that time completely.

Obviously, once you are into doing survey's you would cut out any that take 50 hours to make a buck, but the OP claimed to make $450 a month doing them as he has developed a system and has cut out the lousy surveys that you don't earn much from. for him it is a viable way to make money and worth it to him. I used to do surveys about 15 years ago that they needed RNs to do. I earned $25-50 a survey. Certainly worth my time and generally never over an hour of time.

I find it interesting that some promote having a blog to make money when it can take years for a blog to create enough traction to earn any money (if it does) yet surveys seem to make people think that doing them isn't a viable way to make extra money when in reality some make a nice amount.

I would suggest that you read the many different threads here on making money. Don't look for an fast and easy get rich quick schemes or multiple-level pyramid schemes that depends on you getting people to buy and sell under you as that can be hard to maintain.

YOU have to determine what course is right for you and what you are interested in, but there are plenty of ideas here on the different threads, but you have to be willing to find what appeals to you and if you have a specific question then ask.
