I have heard that people sell their sperm, but I think its a little creepy. Imagine, you may be biological father of somebody and you don't even know it. I don't like this idea

There was one doctor at a sperm bank (creepy looking dude) who was using his own sperm for all the impregnations. Seems like there were about 100 of his 'children' running around in the same town.

On the donor owing child support issue - the court is out - running 50/50. If you donate, you put your fortune on the line.

I couldn't do this. I'll find another way to earn some extra money.

As far as I know, there is no commercial industry for sperm selling, though there are sperm donations. And these can be quite intricate at times.

If someone buys it for $500 for a glass I'd sell it

                How much do you get?

I wish I had done this. I went to sign up in college but was turned off by the urethra swabbing.

Selling sperm is a good idea, but one is advisable not to donate sperm for more than 2 times...But in my opinion I will nit do this and will not even advise it to some other person..

Sure it is. People donate (yes its called donating even though you are compensated because by legal terms you're being compensated for your time, not the actual sperm)sperm, eggs and carry babies for people in need of fertility assistance all the time.

I know that for egg donors and surrogates the laws vary from state to state; I'm not sure whether that is the case for sperm donors as well. The sad part is that the way the selection process works is basically the parent/couple in need sits down with a yearbook of donors and decides who has the best genes -- in other words its like a beauty pageant of donors... who looks the best, is the smartest, etc. It's all about credentials and looks so if you aren't good looking, have a post-secondary degree, graduated with honors and have a great job, you're probably going to sit on a waiting list for a while. You may never get picked. It's certainly not a guaranteed income like going to donate plasma or something.

I know that there has been some legislation promoted in some areas that limit donations to 2 because if one persons sperm is used to create 100 children in a city - the chances of incest increase. Not just because of the increase in unknown half-siblings but also due to the psychology of mating. There are a lot unknowns involved in who we 'fall in love with'; the science is still out on pheromones and other unconscious attractors. The down-line ramifications just seem to multiply without bounds. Don't make it a regular job.

You'll likely have to provide family health history dating back 2-3 generations.

I need to look into this... You can make $55/week donating plasma. All you do is get your finger pricked, then sit in a lounge chair, get hooked up via IV in your arm, and watch a movie for an hour. But if you can make more getting your rocks off... Sounds great! Haha.
