I went last year and the kids are dying to go back. I'm thinking not until 2022. The skyliner was pretty cool. We stayed at the swan when we went and I found it nice taking the boat. We like epcot and the hollywood studio the best for star wars. We had wanted to stay at animal kingdom. All in all, I wouldn't mind living in florida for a month and then just leisurely enjoying disney world and universal and seeing everything. I can't figure out when to do it though. Maybe going for Christmas for like 2-3 weeks and then buying passes and staying off site would be best?

We still have, for all 5 of us, 3 days left on a non expiring 10 day park hopper ticket bought in 2005, those were the days. I wish I'd of bought more, dang it.

I did buy a 4 day ticket that doesn't expire till 14 days after first use(maybe I bought that in 2017?). No clue when we'll get back there, I was thinking we wanted to save those tickets for when Star Wars was all done. Now the kids are all starting their adult jobs so maybe my DH and I will use those tickets for a few couple trips for us in the future.

Once you have your tickets, DIsney can be done on the real cheap.

Sounds good to me. I hope to be able to do that in a few years. Buy an annual pass (which we've had previously but don't currently), get a long-term rental, and spend more time there. We've talked about getting a place and having my wife stay down there for a couple of months and me go back and forth while still working.

I was really excited when I heard CA theme parks can reopen starting 1 APR at 15% capacity, although I read an article in the WSJ that said it didn't make economic sense to open Disneyland at 15% and they are thinking of waiting until capacity can be 25% or more (probably by mid-April) if COVID rates continue to fall. I was reading elsewhere that it may be CA residents only at first. (Not sure if that is due to quarantine requirements. CDC says you don't have to quarantine if you are fully vaccinated...so I am not sure how being vaccinated might impact this).

It is hard to believe Disneyland closed since last March and they decided to cancel all the annual passes last December. I will be back to starting from square one on discount strategies when they reopen.

From what I read it is believed that Disney was looking to come up with a way to cut down on the crowds and increase revenue at Disneyland. And they wanted to get rid of annual passes but that it would be a mess to do so. The shut down made this easy to do. WDW has a much higher percentage of out of the area visitors, so they are keeping the passes, at least for now. I never had an annual pass, but I am considering it this year as I may be able to do multiple trips over a calendar year.
