One of these days I want to take a trip just me and DH so we can do the F&W festival at Epcot. I can honestly say in all the trips we've taken we have never just walked around World Showcase.

Or maybe not DH, he gets kind of antsy, I need to take a girl friend.

At animal kingdom, my favorite sit down restaurant is Yak and Yeti.

We rarely do the sit down meals, but if you like sci-fi, and the nostalgia of drive in movie theaters, there is the "Drive-In Movie" dining place at Hollywood Studios. You eat and watch a ton of classic Sci-Fi movie trailers up on the screen. I doubt we will do it again, but it was nice to do that once. Its very popular and you need to make a reservation.

If you like belly dancing and live middle eastern music, there is the restaurant at the back of the Morocco pavilion at Epcot. Its nice in that it is back away from the main walkway and there are no crowds, and really no noise from the park. Its like the park and crowds vanish when you go there. One bad thing is the same food costs more after (I think) 3:00. So we made a late lunch reservation and enjoyed a nice not too expensive meal and entertainment there. They said you needed a reservation, but when we showed up there was plenty of tables available. (edit: I see DS mentioned this same place - its Marrakesh restaurant - so I will second this one)

For both of these, if you don't like that type of entertainment, these wouldn't be the places to go. If they sound interesting... go for it.

Really, we ate there last week and we thought it was complete trash. The honey chicken was slightly better than tv dinner and the dim sum platter was a joke if you ever had real dim sum. We did not feel it was money well spent. So when it comes to Asian food, my rating is probably a 2/10. I regret not getting the Kobe burger because I'm sure Americans can't screw that one up.

Sorry you didn’t like it. (I actually liked the honey chicken.) Another one of the reasons I like the restaurant is because everyone seems to find something they like on the menu.

thanks for the great suggestions everyone! Does Morroco have the bely dancing during lunch do you know? That sounds so peaceful after touring Future World and then crossing into the countries.

I believe the answer is Yes. (But, we only ever did dinner there.)

They also feature belly dancing at the Morocco pavilion at various times through out the day.

If you call to make a reservation, just ask. I suspect so, but in our case it was near the end of our meal that someone came out, so you may need to wait a while.

Thought I would resurrect this thread as there is a new (though very restricted) way to go to Walt Disney World for cheap. WDW has had an offer for active military personnel to go there at rates maybe 1/3 to 1/2 off normal ticket rates. Turns out this has been extended to Department of Defense civilians as well, but only through mid December this year. As we are planning to go in November, and the GF is a DoD employee, this is great. If you have someone in family that works for DoD, and you can make a trip this fall, now could be the time to go and save serious $$$$.

This is a very good deal. They will continue the program again for 2019 (ticket prices slightly higher in 2019). Here is a link for more details: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/Di...es-Salute.html

Strange...I was re-reading the link provided and it says, "2018 ONLY - DoD Civil Service (Ticket Discount Only)"
But, in the past (2017) this has worked for DoD Civil Service--so, maybe they are changing the rules for 2019?
(Or, maybe they haven't received all the info for 2019, yet?)

That is a shame. I don't necessarily think this change will enhance the guest experience.
