Travel. I think we are going to do Disneyland for the first time with kids. Last time we tried we got to eating at Goofy's kitchen and the kids were not bad. My DK1 almost shrieked and left the restaurant and it's taken this long for my DK2 to stop running away from people in costumes. DH's been 1 in his life for a day with my nephews almost 15 years ago. And we hit Disneyworld 1 day over 10 years ago. I think kids will make it fun but we'll see.

          • Travel: NYC over Easter, and Ireland/Spain in June.
          • More saving: various expenses have just, or are soon winding down, so we're bumping up 401(k) and IRA contribs.
          • Repair: the house needs work.

I'd really like to start getting my pilot's license. Something I've wanted to do for about 10 years, and might finally be able to afford it. Would take about 15k to get both the private and instrument rating. We'll see .

I'm hoping to buy another house this year. Something small and preferably about 100 years old.

Depends on how my business goes but I'm optimistic.

                Hey guys,

I feel as though money spent on expanding your mind is always money well spent. I'm looking forward to buying courses to gain new skills. I bought a productivity course last year and have seen significant positive results from it. I also look forward to traveling more. My plan is to travel to the Dominican Republic in April (to run a marathon), Montreal Canada in May and Panama City later in the year. Great to see a lot you value traveling as well!

I like this thread. No arguing lol.

I also plan to travel this year. My kids are just tall enough now to ride adult roller coasters, and we are planning a trip next month to Seaworld Orlando. It will be their first time riding big rides. I also have some contacts through work(my company has stores in FL, including several in Orlando) that supposedly can get me a reduced price on Disney tickets. If that comes to pass, I'll take an extra day and spend time there too. I've not been since I was 5 or 6.

Since we are getting season passes to Seaworld, I figured we would do our favorite Dec trip. Temps are low, crowds are low, and we love the Christmas atmosphere at Seaworld. We are only 5 hours away, so it isn't a big trip per say.

Outside of that I just want to save more money this year, and see how many credit card points I can build up.

I also found out I can fly to las vegas for super cheap if I get the right ticket(friend of mines dad went for 60$ from Atlanta to Las Vegas this week), so I am looking at going to CES 2018. I didn't realize I could travel so cheap.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you're stupid and make bad choices.

Just broke ground on a 3 bedroom 3 bath house in Thailand that will cost around 60k. We are having a friend visit us from Thailand in March and are planning a car trip to Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas then a trip to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand sometime in the fall to bring my wife's 8 year old son to the states
retired in 2009 at the age of 39 with less than 300K total net worth

                        Windows

I did half of my windows last year. My house really needed some new windows, so that is what I am in the midst of planning for. The windows the house had when I bought it were aluminum framed sliders. Since my house is in a very place where winter can be very cold, I made these an item that I intended to replace. Hopefully this project will be done this summer.

I recommend taking the distillery tour at the Makers Mark distillery, it's a lot of fun. And if you end up around Bowling Green for some reason and like hiking, take a tour at Mammoth Cave, you won't be disappointed.

Still working part time so can't disappear for extended periods, but plan on doing a whole lot of short 3-5 day trips this year. Also like the suggestion of spending a bit more on charity, most of us could probably do a bit more.

I have decided that I am looking forward to paying for a house cleaner after my surgery. Screw it. I'm not struggling.
