Right. But read what Buffet said a little more closely.

[QUOTEBuffett has said that most people will fare better by owning an S&P 500 index fund instead of betting on individual stocks][/QUOTE]

He isn't talking about himself, he is talking about you and me.

I think he is absolutely correct. And, factual data says that he is. Most people underperform the S&P 500 index, including mutual fund managers (who are both financially knowledgeable and intelligent).

No, he doesn't. Buffett has some very uncommon skills. He doesn't recommend index investing for the handful of people who have those same skills; he recommends index investing for the vast majority who do not. He has even directed that his own estate be invested in index funds and recommends to his heirs that they keep it that way.

Nothing to do with the topic, but I think he was hilarious on The Office. Love that Buffett.

He bet that the top fund managers couldn't outdo the index. turns out he was right. So the average person can't beat the index.

Well, it is obvious that investing in the stock market shouldn't be taken like a "gambling game". Still, I have seen some people making amazing cash revenue in the spawn of just hours, so you just have to be informed I believe... but when you need money do not go to casinos.. ask for flash payday loans instead.

Sure. I'm sure you have also seen people with some amazing losses in the span of a few hours. That is the risk inherent when you are choosing individual securities.
