About 1 year ago 360 Performance Savings offered a promotional $1500 bonus for new accts w/an initial deposit of $100,000 or more which I took advantage of and got the full $1500 bonus. I only did it in order to get the $1500 bonus and now have this extra account w/360 Performance Savings which I don't need but it's a little humbug to transfer the money out and close the account. But if another online bank offers a similar promotion it'll motivate me to close this account and pursue the bonus at another institution.

              Still at 3.6%

however today I was enticed by Morgan Stanley/E Trade to open a performance savings account. It’s at 4% and I transferred 75k so I will see a $750 bonus in 105 days.

Vanguard's settlement fund, VMFXX, is at 4.21% currently. I'm not really sure why anyone leaves a bunch of cash in the lower-yielding accounts unless it's just because they aren't aware of the better options. It takes just as long for me to transfer money from Ally to our checking account as it does to transfer from Vanguard so accessibility isn't a factor.
