No AFFY news I know about.... but many times these stocks have rumors and whatnot that cause these runs. That being said it is an intra day play only IMO. I would never hold overnight.

I feel like I am talking to myself on this thread... yet I see people viewing the thread. This is not a trader website so maybe that is why. Anyway, I don't have a position in AFFY as my 1.06 rebuy did not fill...
Will sit around for them to declare BK or something. Or miss a run to 1.50... lol

p.s. I will not always post exits as it is up to individual traders to figure that out for themselves. As a matter of fact, I might as well not post any more as I really do feel like this is not a trader website and this thread is becoming more of a monologue than a back and forth...

I hope you keep posting. I've always been a good saver, but early last year it was your posts that ultimately tipped me over the edge and realize I shouldn't just leave everything in savings/CDs. I read book after book on fundamental/tech analysis and was later introduced to algo trading. I might not be saying much because I'm still fairly new to all of this, but I always enjoy reading your input (as well as others) even if I myself might not take a position on it, because right now I live vicariously through the ups and downs while learning about things like self restraint and emotional detachment that can't be learned in books.Originally posted by gambler2075 View PostAs a matter of fact, I might as well not post any more as I really do feel like this is not a trader website and this thread is becoming more of a monologue than a back and forth...
I've noticed though that on other trading websites it doesn't really seem much different. Although there's more threads like this one, people generally post their findings and followup on their own posts with updates/charts/etc. without any other member input. Maybe that's not the norm? If you have any trading forum recommendations I'm all ears...To put things in perspective, I'm taking baby steps and have a very small portfolio that I absolutely **** bricks when I lose even $50!

You have to start somewhere! At least you're taking your time and trying to read and learn.Originally posted by seen View PostI hope you keep posting. Microsoft did *ok* on earnings, so looks like my remaining calendar spread is safe for the moment and will return a nice 50% profit. I could sure use this win after the beating I am taking with my Apple stock (purchased at $510 and $445...ouch).

Apple has been in a downtrend. Still a good company just not sure where that recovery point is.Originally posted by KTP View PostMicrosoft did *ok* on earnings, so looks like my remaining calendar spread is safe for the moment and will return a nice 50% profit. In the meantime I'm sitting on my hands over here waiting for the DCTH pre-meeting move that has yet to transpire. All these down market days are not helping.

Not liking the looks of DCTH at all. Ugh - what to doOriginally posted by gambler2075 View PostAFFY at 1.38
Ordinarily, I would buy at this point, but not certain when the tide will turn and people will fear BK this weekend. It will probably still run a bit from these levels, but to be honest, I am afraid of holding any stock that could declare BK overnight... it doesn't have to be sunday.
FNMA the play is over... should have stuck with my original plan and bought and held til 0.75...
APPA I should have rebought... but oh well. hit 0.40+ today but I am done with that play.
DCTH was the bottom as I called this morning, at least short term... I think the best way to play it (if I were to play it, and this is not trading advice) is to sell 2 days before the briefing docs come out (Apr 30 for BD's, maybe sell apr 28th)... At least that is what one of my professional trading buddies is doing.
