I checked out the website link on "how it works" that jpg posted. Reminded me of the old chain letters where you mailed someone a dollar and eventually 20 people would send you a dollar each. Shoot I couldn't even get the recipes when it was a recipe chain letter. I definitely can think of better use of my money and still help others.

I thought the post by 14 eagles sounded like a teenager claiming "everyone is doing it, so should you..."

If it walks like a scam and sounds like a scam....

Well, alright. I'm always up for a fight, but in the interest of not polluting the forums, I'll do the same.

I found this on thier website. "Only send cash". Do not declare this as cash, wrap in black paper. Are people really that stupid?

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SEND YOUR GIFTS

          1. Your gifts should be sent NO LATER than 24 hours after you receive the names of the (3) people you will be gifting on EACH LEVEL!

          2. All gifts must be in cash, US Currency. No Money Orders, Cashier’s Checks, personal checks, and so on.

          3. Login to your 14 Eagles website and in your Eagles Nest you will see the names of (3) people you are sending gifts. You will see their Name (Username), Phone Number, and Email Address.

          4. Contact the people you are sending gifts and make sure you have their mailing address correct. For example, some people use different addresses for USPS and FedEx, so verify the correct address where to send your gift. Also, someone may be out of town for a week or two and want you to send their gift to their current location. In short, with every gift you send, always contact the person first for the current correct address. As soon as you have sent your gift, send an email letting the person receiving your gift know that it is on the way AND how it was sent (e.g., USPS, Priority Mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.), including the TRACKING NUMBER if it was sent by private courier.

Under no circumstances are you to send a gift to any person other than the (3) individuals who are listed in your Eagles Nest!

          5. To electronically send the Gifting Statement & Non-Solicitation Form, login to your 14 Eagles website and click on “Gifting Forms.” In the box next to “Recipient’s Username,” type in the person’s Username and click on “Submit.” Fill in the form with the amount of your gift and type your name next to “Signature” at the bottom and click on “Send Now.”

          6. When sending anything by either USPS or private courier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.), powerful scanners look into that envelope to make sure there is no contraband in the envelope and USPS and UPS have restrictions against sending cash. So, to prevent any problems with your sending cash gifts, follow these procedures to the letter.

If you do not follow these procedures, you will jeopardize the safety and longevity of the activity, so please be mindful of them:

1 Take the cash and wrap it in black paper.

2 Write a brief note on a regular, 8 1/2 by 11, white sheet of paper, such as: Hi Bill,
Nice chatting with you! I am sending you this little gift of ($Amt.) to cheer your day
and say thanks for your friendship. Have a nice day, (Your Name & Username). Fold
that paper in three and put the black paper inside it.

3 Take that folded white sheet of paper and fold a sheet of black construction paper
(purchased at any Art Supply Store or Office Supply Store, such as Staples, Office
Depot, or Office Max) around it.

4 Put the folded sheet of black construction paper in a #10 SECURITY ENVELOPE,
address the TO and FROM on the envelope, put a stamp on it, and put it in the mail.

5 When sending larger gifts by private courier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.), do Steps 1
through 4, above, and put the smaller envelope in a manila folder (cut off the tab at the top part so it fits in a Priority Mail or private courier envelope) or old magazine (so
it doesn’t bounce around), and put it in the larger courier envelope.

It is very important that your small envelope containing the cash is addressed
(To and From), sealed, and stamped. This is in case the larger, courier envelope
should be in an accident, damaged and opened, and your smaller envelope with the
cash falling out- you and your cash are protected because it is against the law to open
an addressed, sealed, stamped envelope; it must be put in the mail right away and
          sent back on its way.

          7. Your first few levels of gifts (Steps 1-3) can be sent via the Postal Service (USPS). DO NOT use a Delivery Confirmation Form! This will SLOW down your delivery and you need the gift to arrive as quickly as possible.

          8. Beginning with Step 4 gifts ($100), you MUST send these using a private courier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) using TRACKING NUMBERS. DO NOT indicate in any way that there is “cash” in the envelope, for your own safety and protection. We recommend you send it Overnight Delivery. If it is okay with the person you are sending the gift, you can send it without having a “Signature Required.” Some people are not home during the day to give a signature and do not mind having the envelope left at their door- it is entirely up to them, so please respect their wishes.

If the receiver of the gift requests that the courier envelope be left at their door, without “Signature Required,” then the sender of the gift cannot be held responsible, as long as the Tracking Number confirms delivery.

          9. For an easier and less expensive (only $1.00) gift-sending method, if both you and the person you are sending the gift have purchased the VISA Gold Debit Card (and you have it loaded with enough cash), you may send your gift from your card to their card. Could not get any easier!

          10. As soon as you receive a gift from someone, IMMEDIATELY login to your 14 Eagles website and under “Incoming Gifts,” to the right of that person’s name, click on “Confirm.” It is imperative that you do this right away each time you receive a gift.

I hope all of you won't do that. Your responses to those promoting aren't going to affect the posters, but they do influence people that are searching for quality information about how 14 Eagles works and whether or not it is a scam. The reason that so many people are trying to explain how good it is here is because we have shown that 14 Eagles is a scam. If people realize this and don't participate, they are the ones that lose the money instead of the people they recruit. Answering the those that are promoting 14 Eagles and 14 eagles cash giving as legitimate is a way to help those that have heard about the 14 Eagles program so that they don't waste their money on it. The dispelling of the arguments aren't for the person that posts, but those seeking additional information on what 14 Eagles is really all about (and all of you have done a great job so far -- much appreciated)

              Well since Jeffrey asked

That is actually a legit tactic to prevent someone from identifying the contents of an envelop as cash. Wrap the cash is some thicker paper - so light can't get through the envelope.

There is however, no tactic to prevent that person who was holding your envelope up to the light, from opening the envelope to check

Jeffrey, BA, and I have already given some good evidence that it's a pyramid scheme and therefore, a scam. And now here's some evidence to support my "the founders are taking money" conspiracy theory! Thanks to Decatur
              2. All gifts must be in cash, US Currency. No Money Orders, Cashier’s Checks, personal checks, and so on.
ie. - "please don't make anything payable to these names we are giving you, because we know we won't be able to cash those checks"

(fyi - gifts made by check are still gifts, are much safer to mail than cash, and ensure that the intended recipient is the one who benefits from your gift. They also have a paper trail so you can see who actually got your money.)
              4. ...Also, someone may be out of town for a week or two and want you to send their gift to their current location. In short, with every gift you send, always contact the person first for the current correct address.
ie. - "the address we made up may not be our real address, but when you contact us, we'll be sure to clarify where this non-named cash should go"

              6. When sending anything by either USPS or private courier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.), powerful scanners look into that envelope to make sure there is no contraband in the envelope and USPS and UPS have restrictions against sending cash. So, to prevent any problems with your sending cash gifts, follow these procedures to the letter.
ie. - "we realize this is likely illegal, and against the policy of the USPS and any reputable courier for a reason, but we can't get your cash any other way, so just don't let them know you're sending cash - here's how to trick the system (oh fyi - if you get caught, it's not our problem)"

              8. ...If it is okay with the person you are sending the gift, you can send it without having a “Signature Required.” Some people are not home during the day to give a signature and do not mind having the envelope left at their door- it is entirely up to them, so please respect their wishes.
ie - "please, please, please do not make us sign and give our real names upon receipt of these envelopes"

How I feel this likely goes, is that they include enough real names of real users in with their own that there are people out there who will get cash back and say "it works!" It's likely that real names are the majority. So when you people write back, "I got cash, so the names must be real" you'll only be proving my point.

                great info...

i have just be presented with this business proposition, though the person doing it kept saying it's not a business; which we all know that a business consist in investing to receive. of course i found the idea way too easy to believe (i don't believe in easy money, there's not such a thing) so decided to make a quick research and i most say thank you guys for your input. truly helped me & answered some question that the person doing the presentation, small talk as he tends to call it, was not able to answer.

and above all, truly makes SICK-SICK TO MY STOMACH that our society has come to such a low point in using the name of our Lord & the true meaning of PAY FORWARD philosophy for a selfish deed...

and though the ones defending the idea of the 14 eagles keep pushing its benefits the formula presented to me does not make any sense...

kudos to you guys for offering us a broader view of this so call oportunity...

I am a displaced American that believed in Corporate America! I have dedicated over 50 years of my life making it possible by being a dedicated employee, to make the Top Executive of that organization richer! I spent long hours and week-ends ensuring the success of someone else's business. I understand the power of duplication. i UNDERSTAND that Duplication can make you PROSPEROUS. All I know is that more millionaires have been made by pyramid organizations than any other industry! All I know is a pyramid investment helped me save the roof over my head when my dedicated 50 year sacrifice to corporate America left my without a Job, Income or means of getting an income. Unfortunately or Fortunately, however you want to look at it, I know this to be true for a few other displaced Corporate Americans. I say "pyramid" you say "scam"! I say "life saver" you say "life taker"! I've tried it... I say it can work! You haven't....you say It doesn't work! $6 and High integrity and a LOT of people have changed the dynamics of their lives! If a corporation grows it hires more slaves to increase production. The POWER of Duplication! Why does it appear that this country was BUILT on Pyramid concept. How often have you found yourself with more month than money? What do you do? Aren't you TIRED of being BROKE!! How many times have you played the lottery, bet on sports, bet on horses, spent your hard earned cash on something that brought you no return?! Pyramids have gotten a rap that I am just not sure is fully deserved! As soon as the word comes out of your mouth....someone shouts..... SCAM!!!!!! If $6 can save your family should a gamble be takeN?! Or maybe you should go and find yourself a $6 an hour job and find yourself in the same predicament the NEXT day! BROKE....trying to find an end to the BROKENESS!!

This is exactly what I hate about pyramid schemes - they prey on those that are most vulnerable. They know that people that are tired and broke are looking for a miracle and they play into this hopelessness to fleece them even more. A scam is a scam not matter what you current financial situation. If you don't get scammed (which you will because if it is showing up on this forum, you are already way to fr down in the pyramid), you will be scamming many others. When people start to say things are all right using only emotional arguments and not facts, that is when you know you really want to avoid it at all costs.

As in Lottery....sports betting.....raffels.......horse racing.......Bingo.....STOCKS.... BONDS....playing on the hoplessness of desperate people! People are always going to take a chance! The odds of taking a chance will ALWAYS beat not taking one! To stay in the same rut and get the same thing you get for doing the same thing you do doesn't change anything!! People win the Lottery, sports betting, raffles, Bingo and the people that invest their money on the hopes of winning and DON'T .....Don't call it a "SCAM"! Someone is going to win ....and.......someone is going to loose! 14 Eagles is not a $1000 chance! It is a $6 one time out of your pocket chance AND getting 14 people who get 14 people who get 14 people ...so what? The power of Duplication....! Do you know that dupliction a penny for 30 days can make you a million? Look I know I can't change your mind! All I'm trying to say is it's a chance...a gamble is taken every day! Yes, for some of us that is the only hope we have. To just get a break. and it is about the same as any other chance you take! When I play a Lottery...I pray I'm gonna win! When I buy raffle...I pray I'm gonna win! When I play Bingo...guess what? I pray I'm gonna win! And when someone else wins instead of me ....I hope it will be me next time! bamarella, I don't know why I am even wasting my time to reply, but you are leaving out one huge detail. State lotteries, church bingo games and Wall St. investments are all LEGAL. Pyramid schemes are not. Does anybody make money with a pyramid scheme? Sure. The person who starts it and a few people who come in right after that (until they get caught and go to prison). After that, that "power of duplication" your refer to creates an unsustainable number of people needed to keep the money flowing. If one person needs to get 14 others to participate and each of them need to get 14 people, just do the math. By the 5th "round", you need over 7.5 million people to be participating.

Here, you are blindly lumping all these different gambling and investing concepts together as though they belong as one. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, depending on the context that you are not providing....

The odds of taking a chance will ALWAYS beat not taking one!
That is not true. If it can be proven that something is a bad idea, then it's best not to take your chances with it. If you must take a chance with something, it would be best to take your chances with something that is a good idea.

People win the Lottery, sports betting, raffles, Bingo and the people that invest their money on the hopes of winning and DON'T .....Don't call it a "SCAM"!
Again, that's not true. Depending on context, I would call some of those activities a scam.

And again, for the record, I've never out-right said that pyramid schemes are necessarily scams either; merely that they are unsustainable models. They're only scams if they are not being entirely upfront and honest about what they are and how they really work... which sadly is almost always the case... including 14 Eagles.

Someone is going to win ....and.......someone is going to loose! 14 Eagles is not a $1000 chance! It is a $6 one time out of your pocket chance AND getting 14 people who get 14 people who get 14 people ...so what? The power of Duplication....! Do you know that duplication a penny for 30 days can make you a million?
Although I have no place to talk when it comes to spelling and grammar, the correct term is "lose", not "loose".

In any case, although it's true that they only require $6 from you to start out, it is indeed taking a chance, because you just don't know for sure if 14 others will deliver on their promise of delivering that untraceable cash back to you.

As such, it isn't entirely correct to see this as the power of "duplication". It is the power of "hoping others will play along this same game that you play". This "duplication" idea is one of many marketing tools they use to talk you into this program. But here, I will tell you the truth: Real life results may vary.

Look I know I can't change your mind!
You are quite wrong about this. I have indeed changed my mind about a great many things in the past, and I am certainly not opposed to remain open-minded about this as well.

Still, despite keeping an open mind, hearing the pitch, and reading over their own program materials, I have still come to the conclusion that this is not that different from most other pyramid schemes, and sooner or later, it too is doomed to fail.

Now, I ask you. Are YOU able to keep an open mind? Are YOU capable of seeing the argument against it, and consider that, maybe just maybe, pyramid schemes in general are a bad idea?

All I'm trying to say is it's a chance...a gamble is taken every day!
Yes, it's true we take risks every day. But, just because you can and do take risks, that still doesn't mean some things a good idea. So, the point isn't about taking risks at all. The point is about making smart decisions.

Somebody has GOT to have a dream!!
Why is this the only hope you have? And why do you have to pray to win? Isn't it better to simply make smart choices with your money? You don't have to be a millionaire to do that.

Desperation can be a great motivator. There's nothing wrong with that. However, it in and of itself does not make for a good business plan.

Finally, you can always just ignore us. We, the detractors, I'm sure, can't be invited into 14 Eagles anyway. Don't you find it odd that it's private-invite only? Why do you suppose that? Why don't they make it open for anyone to sign up and join online? Wouldn't they make a lot more money that way? That doesn't raise any suspicion for you?

Haha, that's exactly how I felt too when I started out. Unfortunately, the program defenders took my initial silence as a sign of victory; as though somehow I couldn't counter their invincible intellect or something, when in fact, it was just so pitiful that I didn't feel it was worth a response.... So, they decided to dog-pile me.

Yeah, I know I'm being a jerk for saying that. I apologize. But that's what it looked like to me when I read the responses.

By this point though, I feel like I'm being unfairly mistreated for simply having an opinion on something. It would have been so easy for them to say, "Well BA, I disagree with you, but it's a free country, so feel free to say whatever but I'm just going to ignore you." Instead, they felt the need to resort to character attacks that have nothing to do with the issue itself.

So, I know I'm sort of lowering myself to their level by arguing over this petty little thing, but being the bored, single guy with time on my hands that I am, I decided that, yeah sure, why not. If they're going to resort to attacking my character, I might as well step up.

But you know, you don't have waste your time or muddy your hands on one this if you don't want. For the financial savvy, there are certainly better ways to apply your time and energy.
