  • Would You Like Fries With That?? It Just Might Be Cheaper!

I had an interesting encounter, I thought I would share.

For various reasons, I was running a little late this morning. I didn't follow my typical routine of fixing breakfast and eating before I left for work. No major issue. I got everything settled out at work, then ran next door to pick up breakfast at Taco Bell.

My order was a #12 combo. A sausage crunch wrap with Cinnabon bites, and a drink up sided to a large. The cashier said $9.39 and pull around. EVERYTHING has got more expensive so I didn't think about it.

When pulled up to the window I paid and she handed me the larger drink and a bag with my food, but no Cinnabon bites.

I said "Hey where's the bites".

She said "You didn't order the meal, you only ordered the crunchwrap with the large drink. I can ring you up for the Cinnabons separately if you like."

Sparing you all a couple of minutes of dialog, I instructed her to refund the original order and ring me up for the meal. She did. New total: $8.87

It is only $0.52, but I paid less and got more. Comparing the combo pricing is worth taking into account when placing an order!

Yep, it's the point of the matter, not so much the money itself. We do the same almost every time we shop at Safeway, buy a can of something on sale for 50 cents off but it rings up at the full price. I call them on it every time.

It's a hard habit to let go of. I called today because i picked up a pizza to bring home for the kids lunch. I didn't open the box and look at the individual pizzas. It was the wrong pizza inside. I kid you not. My kid was like mom did you order me the wrong thing? I look at the order on the top of the box. It doesn't match. I show her. Then out of principal i call and ask for my money back. I got it. Yes i didn't need to do that but it irked me. I seriously thought pizza with the order stuck on top couldn't be wrong. Well i was dumb for thinking that the pizza in the box would match the paper order on top.

      And it was $15

I've ran into that before as well.
Sometimes more is less with the combo meals at fast food places

I've pretty much lost interest in eating out nearly everywhere.
More often than not the service is crummy and unless you spend the really big bucks the food everywhere is just about all the same prepackaged, premade Sysco warehouse crap they heat up and serve to you.
