  • What IS your wallet?

I'm needing to replace my wallet and I'm momentarily stuck in analysis paralysis. There are so many choices. Would I like a larger one with more capacity, or would I like to only carry bare necessities. Trendy, or traditional? Expensive, or cheap? Made here, or there? I stumbled on a somewhat helpful website, walletopedia.info. He reviews all kinds of wallets. I've never seen so many different choices.

So what is YOUR wallet? Is it an accessory you care about, or is it 100% functional, could be made out of construction paper, and you wouldn't care as long as it held your money?

Definitely not construction paper. It needs to be good quality leather and hold up for many years. I don't want to be replacing it frequently. If I don't get 12-15 years out of it, it was a waste of money.

I just looked at my Amazon history. I bought my currently wallet on March 8, 2018. It's 6+ years old and looks just fine. No reason I shouldn't get another 6+ years before I need to think about replacing it.

I carry a standard leather wallet for things like drivers license, significant amounts of cash, ID cards, insurance cards, various licenses, etc.
In my front pocket I carry a money clip with some spending cash and a little Ridge credit card wallet for the credit cards used frequently.

Mine is just a simple Velcro wallet made by Columbia. $25 off Amazon maybe?

I've got my drivers license and carry permit on the right side.

        Front middle is debt.

Back middle are HD & Lowes cards along with supermarket card.

Left is hunting / fishing license.

The main pocket, $0 cash and a bunch of receipts.

I can't find the exact product, because my wife bought it for me ... I much prefer a slim-style wallet, not a bulky leather mess. My main one is a bifold wallet with RFID-blocking materials, card space for 8-10 cards + display window, integrated money clip for cash. Looks mostly similar to this Chinese knockoff.

I also have a couple others for when the situation warrants. I've got a small money clip for when I need the absolute minimum -- holds 3-4 cards & a couple bills of cash. I also use a pop-up card-only wallet for storage of less-commonly used cards.

I have minimal wallet. A few credit cards, license, medical card, warehouse cards, and a bit of cash. The latest version also has a spot to hold an air tag. It’s also RFID blocking.

Generally carry in my front pocket as I didn’t want a “costanza wallet” in my back pocket.

This is one which I haven't looked into yet. I place this threat in the low risk category.

After just the briefest of investigation into the top, I was amazed the RFID readers can have a range of 10 feet, and my mind was blown that beam directed readers have a range of 600 feet. I guess if you had a reader in a backpack running, you could simply walk through the mall or some other crowded location and harvest data.

                I have no idea.
My wallet was a Christmas gift that I received back in 2017 or 2018. Can't remember exactly.
But it is holding up well.
Clifton is the name brand. Seems to be decent quality

Awesome. The responses here are as diverse as the number of choices in the market. It's easy to get sucked in...I was wooed towards a wallet costing almost $100. Crazy advanced materials. Beautiful stitching. Beautiful presentation, rave reviews! And then I remembered I really don't care that much, it's "just" a wallet to me, why am I getting down to the stitches on this choice. I keep going back to this $15 wallet I have saved in my Amazon cart. It should work just fine.

"Costanza wallet" made me chuckle. I could never do a wallet that fat, I carry mine in my front pocket. But I also can't go completely minimalist, so it's a challenge to find something in-between. The search...goes on!
