I am currently at Universal and this may be our last trip for a while for several reasons, cost being one of them. We prefer Disney, but a 7 day pass for the 5 of us is about $2200. The student passes have gone way up. Just last year, we paid $1250 for 7 day passes and I thought that was a lot! 5 years ago those same passes were $780.

Disney recently posted the latest annual pass price increase...
Disney Platinum Pass (incl tax) $797.69

Just to put this in perspective for the non-Disney folks, this same pass was $696.51 before the increase. So it went up 14.5%.

I don't know about you but my income sure didn't go up 14.5%.

Nope. I already had heartburn with the last increase which (I think) was in Feb of this year. I'm going to have to come up with anew strategy after our passes expire at the end of this year (I just don't know what that will be, yet )

I know if you reside in FL or Southern California and can prove it there are discounted passes for residents. I don't know if they can buy discounted passes. This has always made disney difficult for us to spend on because the ticket costs have always been so expensive.
