Yesterday I somehow got up at 4:45am and went to the gym. Lifted weights for an hour, ran for 20 minutes...came home, made breakfast for myself and wife, cleaned up dishes, made lunches, went to work...got home around 5:30pm, took dog out for 20 min, made blackened salmon with baked seasoned tomatoes, rice and salads (wife and I took leftovers today.) Also cooked chicken breasts, made a huge pot of tortilla soup, had dinner ready when wife got home. Did the dishes, took the dog back out for an hour...and still had 1.5 hours to waste on sitting in front of the tv before I went to bed at 9:30pm...oh, and I was back up at 4:45am this morning to the gym. I almost forgot..I was also able to squeeze in a load of laundry!! Now tonight wife will be home earlier and she'll be able to knock out some cooking.

How can I possible manage all of this?? Its called time management. I understand how to do things efficiently. I waste very little time when I know things need to get done. Congrats to me...do I want a cookie?? kinda....

Congratulations. Seriously - is that what you want to hear?

I can count on one hand - okay, two hands - the number of times I've been home by 5:30.

Everyone's situation is different and I think that a lot of people on this thread could stand to be a lot less judgmental about decisions that other people make that have absolutely nothing to do with you and absolutely no effect on your own life.

At one point, I had it all. And, then I realized I didn't want it ALL. Yeah, I had the high paying high powered career. DH had his career. Fast track. Run, run, run. Dropping kids off at daycare. And, if that is for YOU then that is for YOU. But, some of us are not high energy people. I need down time. I don't want to on the go 24/7 and organized to the nth degree. I want time to just be. So, we cut back our lifestyles, downsized and for MY FAMILY , we are all much happy. But, if that isn't for you, then it isn't for you.
