I have a question about buying from Thrift Stores... is there a chance that the clothes could have bugs in them, (like lice or scabies)? Are they cleaned before they are sold or do you have to clean them when you take them home? The thought of it grosses me out to the point where I've never bought any clothes used. I always buy my clothes new and on sale.

i always clean any clothes i buy, including new. you do not know who tried them on before you, but i never acutally worried about lice or scabies.

We don't dress like we have money.

My husband is lucky enough to get to wear jeans to work and his company provides shirts with the company logo, so we usually don't need to buy a lot for him -- only weekend stuff.

I work at a bank and feel it is important for me to look professional, but I have a nice set of classic pieces that are easily interchangable. I buy on sale, but only when I need to replace an item.

Bunny slippers, and bathrobe work just fine for me the morning hours....

I work from home and have a small business I run...when I'm not playing hooky at this forum! sheeesh! A bit addictive isn't it?

But you guys don't care that I wear my bunny slippers to work do you??

I went to an easter brunch, as usual, I was the only one not dressed right! Everyone had on capri pants, I don't own any. I am short, and I think they look "funny" on short people. I wore shorts. I was the only one without my hair and nails done, and they all had on sandels with painted toenails. I had on tennis shoes. (we at least had the prettiest car)

I look like I spend a lot (and to most of you I probably do...) but I do so wisely. I am very skinny so finding pants that fit me is a chore.
I bought bogo half off capri's @ The Limited at around $40 but I rock $5 tee shirts and $5 sandals with them.

I also do my own nails (and it always takes me a while b/c I mess them up the first time ) but take a monthly trip to get my eyebrows waxed for $6 since they always look spectacular when they are done. I also dye my own hair once in a while whenever it is needed.

I also used to use very expensive conditioner since my hair is VERY dry and long. I found out I can use the inexpensive stuff If I use a pricey olive oil balm after I shower. So instead of spending $30 or so a month on shampoo and conditioner, I spend $25 every 6 months on the balm.

I used to go to Old Navy and other more inexpensive stores but Id always end up being unhappy b/c their clothes didnt fit me right. Now I just buy things that may be a bit more expensive but fit right and last.

Ima I am sad to say yes I dress as if I have money, but I do coordinate my clothes I think I have a sense of style. I love "fashion" so to speak I think if you know to dress if you shopped at Kmart it would not even matter

I like people with bunny slippers on!! I have never shopped thrift stores except once and I got a neat leather coat for $2. I think I would shop them more, but I don't need any clothes.

I rarely buy any clothes for me, but I buy a lot for my kids, they grow so fast. They are 3 and 1, boy and girl, so they need new size every few months and they can't really share the same clothes. I don't dress, like I have money, i guess that's why i have some still. I buy almost everything on clearance, and I have differen clothes for different ocasions. At-home clothes, church clothes, work, going shopping or errands clothes...My husband gets t-shirts from work, but he wears them when he works on the car or fixing something, so he does'nt waste his at-home shirts. He'll get the new ones once these are all damaged.

haha... i don't really know but i sincerely doubt it unless we're talking about those low-key people.... i dress very casual most of the time but that is because it is very casual where i live.... jeans, tees, maybe a pretty shirt, sneakers or slippers... a backpack for school, purse for other things.... if i remember, maybe some lip gloss...
the dressier stuff i save for parties and other stuff... i have generic stuff and i have brand name stuff... junkier clothes and quality clothes.... but since i'm never trendy and rarely dressed up i guess i look like an average person... yup, that's me =D

Somewhat. I buy classic cuts made from natural fibers and usually they are from higher end department stores/designers.... however, I only buy them at consignment and thrift stores! So yea, I look like I do, but I don't.
