I agree with what started it - the diaper bag price was ridiculous.

I guess I've been more scarred by the thread on the menstral cup than I first thought...
I haven't seen that particular thread, but I have to say I see nothing wrong with a menstrual cup. It makes sense and is better for the environment too. I waste a lot of money on tampons. One menstrual cup would pay for itself in no time.

PS - Going to try to find that thread now

I am coming for the other side of things. My best friend grew up in a house where they did got nothing kids get today or even then. We always would argue because when i wanted to go out for pizza or a movie or go out somewhere he would tell me he could not go. Why? Because my parents were paying for the pizza, movie etc. Him it was coming out of his pocket. Its not easy being good friends with someone who has totally diffrent views then you financialy.

Can you hang out and socialize with people that are not frugal? Yes. But there would be some comprimising at least on the other persons side.

I had that problem in college. I was fortunate to have money. Some of my friends didn't. So I wanted to go out to eat or go to the mall or a movie and some of my friends couldn't afford to. Often, I would offer to treat or we'd have a party in one of our dorm rooms and I'd buy a lot of the refreshments.

        * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
        * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
        * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

I did the same DisneySteve. To me it was more important to have my friend's company at the movies, etc. I would pay for the both of us if her parents didn't give her the money that time. I never once regretted it
