It's really sad when we get excited about gas costing less than $3/gallon isn't it?

would you prefer that we only get to be excited about gas costing less than $4? That was the case not too long ago.... Personally, I'll take what I'm given. ^_^

You all have nice prices! Where I am at, gas per gallon is at 3.55. About a week ago it was around 3.88 so no complaints here!

Poor gas stations operators, they get all the flak and none of the profits... the people who should be pissed off at is the OPEC cartel. They're talking about restricting supply because prices have fallen so quickly. The best thing we can do is lower demand.

Actually, with prices going down, this is the time when gas station owners can do well. Oil prices have been going down around 3-4% PER DAY. However, gas prices have been going down at about 1-2% per day. The difference? Station owners are able to recup losses (or make gains) by lowering gas prices slower than oil prices are dropping.

This is also a move of safety for them, wagering that oil will begin to go back up sometime soon. By not dropping prices as quickly, when oil starts going back up, they won't have to increase their prices as quickly either (which could burn "loyal" customers away).

but blueprint is correct... OPEC hates to see prices drop as fast as they have, so they are almost assuredly going to restrict production/distribution to balance out the whole supply/demad curve and get prices to stabilize, if not rise. Their goal: higher, stable prices.

I filled up last night for $2.57. That's down $.12 since I started this thread and $.30 since my last fill up.

$2.44 outside of the city where I am. No price is low enough for my 8 miles a gallon, though!

Heavily, heavily, heavily (did I mention it's heavy?) modified extended frame Wrangler is the normal daily. Though I don't think anything I have gets more than 12 MPG. Even my boat's nauticle MPG sucks.

The oil companies buy stock in ME.

Edit: When I tow my boat with the Jeep, you don't even want to know what my MPG is.

Just enough to get you from one gas station to the next I'd imagine.

What do you do that requires such a vehicle? Some type of construction work perhaps?
