My parents did the exact same thing. I was allowed every two weeks and if I needed more, I was on my own. I remember a couple of times using the gas can for the lawn mower!Originally posted by kork13 View Posthaha I remember in high school that's what my parents rationed me every 2 weeks... At prices then, $20 was enough to fill my tank, and just enough to drive my brother and I to school and back every day for 2 weeks. Any more than that I was on my own, but it goes to show... about the same size tank now, and it's about $30 for a tank.

There was a letter to the editor today in our paper that was pretty funny. It said "Gasoline prices have been dropping dramatically thruoghout the country. This is obvioulsy a conspiracy between big oil companies and President Bush. I would encourage House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to begin hearings into this problem to properly assign blame to Bush."

Consiracy theorists are not bound by fact, logic, or reality. ...and that's all I'll say about that.Originally posted by Snave View PostThere was a letter to the editor today in our paper that was pretty funny. haha fair point.... it just sounded like something I could believe being proposed by at least a couple people I know, so I figured someone had actually put it out there. sorry about that... lolOriginally posted by Snave View PostI'm pretty sure the letter was being satirical... and that's all I'll say about that.
Yes, it's two latin phrases I've always liked and try to live by...Originally posted by Pitman View PostOFF TOPIC:
Hey kork13, I always wanted to know what your signature meant. If I'm not mistaken, I think its Latin.
"Praestantia per minuti" literally is "Excellence through small things", or in better English, "Excellence is in the details". A friend with some Latin experience helped me translate it from English to Latin, thus the kinda rough translation.
"Acta non verba" means "Actions, not words". (that one's actually legitimate)

I forgot about that. Yeah, I'm sure all the people that rushed to buy new cars to take advantage of that deal are feeling pretty dumb right about now.Originally posted by simpletron View Postdo you remember the 2.99 gas promotion that car companies were using to sell cars.
$2.25 here yesterday.Steve
