Saved the peeling from my breakfast orange............ When I'm done with my tea & reading here........I'll cut the peelings into little pieces, technically about 3/8" X 3/8". Stick a whole clove in each and leave out to dry. Store in airtight container & use to flavor teas. Yummy!

Make great gifts for the tea drinkers on your gift giving list too.

To preserve the finish of your washer and dryer, wax them with car wax twice a year.

We cancelled all our magazine subscriptions and surf online for house and garden tips, news, computing how to's and entertaining ideas. We also go to Barnes and Noble's online classes, which cover a variety of subjects and cost nothing. They will always recommend a book, but very often you can get it used or do without it.

I have to say that my best tip is to get into mystery shopping. I've been doing this for about two years, and I love it. I've never paid to shop, I make decent money to eat out, visit retail outlets and review hotels. I know this sounds like spam, but there are legitimate ways to add this type of income to your household. I have no monetary interest in turning people on to this (actually, it's dumb; they become competitors......)

WE took a two night landscaping course when we built our house and did it ourselves. It looks great and we saved a lot of money.

This year I wanted a treadmill and someone had one that they no longer wanted it and I requested it and got it. It's a great site. Ya'll check it out!

I got a deep freezer that way. Cost me $8 a month to run it. But I save 70 a month in food.

I agree, but then I run Bergen NJ, so I'm not objective at all! I received a Soloflex machine and a bread machine this year, and gave away dishes, clothing, textbooks, and bowling balls, lol...it's a great group, and many of my members have become friends too. Someone even came to my yard to dig out bamboo and Ivy; she got plants, I got landscaping!

Whenever I use public restrum, I take an extra piece of toilet paper and put it in my pocket so I could use it the next time when I will have to use bathroom at home, so I don't waste my paper. Saves me about a $1 a month.

I've got so many tips, I don't know where to start. I've been around.

                        Food Coloring Tips:

Tint your wall paper paste with food coloring. Then you can see exactly where you have applied it.

To check for stopper ball valve leaks in a toilet, put a few drops of coloring in the tank. Do not flush now. Look for colored water coming into the bowl. If you see it, you know you have a leak.

To tell which eggs in the refrigerator have been boiled, put food coloring in your water while cooking.

Let the kids help decorating the cookies. Give them a water color brush and let them apply the food color. Before or after baked.

On Valentine's Day, add some red coloring to milk or maybe some pancake batter. On St. Pat's Day add green.

Add some coloring to bath water. Let the kids enjoy.

                          Laundry Basket tips:

Set a baby who can sit up in a plastic laundry basket. It provides more stability during bath time. Works for small pets to.

Make cleaning up more fun mom. Use a basket as a train engine. They can play choo choo as they, push it from rroom to room. They shouldn't mind too much now, if they have to pick up their toys.

Put a laundry basket on a dresser. Let them toss rolled up socks in it. Safe way to play basket ball.

Invert one basket over another. Now tie them together. Works great for transporting small animals.

Carry beach toys in one. Then rinse all the sand off in the lake, before leaving.

Toss one in your trunk for small items you purcase. Then when you get home, just carry it in the house.

Store your coiled garden hose in one.

Buy a round basket. Cut the bottom out to fit over your child. Attach suspenders and your child can go, as dirty laundry for Holloween. Just put a few old items inside. Maybe even include an empty box of laundry detergent.

                            Mayonaise Tips:

Use mayo as a soothing cream for the skin, that has been overexpossed from sun, wind, or cold.

Apply mayo to dry brittle hair, once a week as a conditioner. Leave 30 minutes and then shampoo.

Mayo is good for removing tar. Spread a small amount into the tar. Rub gently and wipe away.

Remove water rings and spots on wood, with mayo. Just let it sit one hour. Then wipe off. If stubborn stains, rub gently with mayo to which fine wood ashes have been added.

                              Kids Pool Tips:

Use a pool as a stepping stone. They can wash their feet off in it, before gettin into the big pool.

Use a pool for cold drinks, at a party.

Pile leaves in it when doing yard work. Then pull them to the compost pile.

Use a pool as a bed, for a small baby.

You can use a pool as a kennel. Line it with newspapers, and put your new puppy in it. Or Kitten. The mother can get to them, and the sides are high enough to keep them in for a while.
