I know the stock market hates uncertainty, but realistically, why does it matter to Wall Street that he has COVID? Wall Street is betting heavily on a Biden win so shouldn't this be a positive for the market? Is the concern that other government officials may also be infected?
It's been obvious your hate for Trump is deep, but where in the heck did you come up with this notion?
If you're so sure of that pick some stocks that go along with this ideology and get rich with the upcoming election.

Follow the money. The big banks and other corporations donate far more to Biden's and Democrats' campaigns than to Trump's and Republicans'. I'll see if I can find one of the articles detailing that.

I saw that the chairperson of the RNC also has COVID. I would imagine she's spent some time in contact with the president.

Doesn't biden want to keep the economy on lock down? I'm not sure that would be great for the market.

Lock downs are controlled by the state. The president just makes a recommendation of the matter. Also don't be surprised that both sides are hypocrite and do exactly what they blame the other side is doing. When it comes to the shut down, it's only popular for the democrats because Trump wants it. If the table was turned, they will make excuses for Biden not shutting down. That's just how the world works now.

I'm unsurprised by the diagnosis, because the man has belittled, ignored, and cast doubt on the world's infectious disease experts for more than 6 months. It was only a matter of time before he was exposed. I was surprised that the market was crying over the news this morning, and to DS' point, that the market has appeared ignorant of 200k + deaths from covid right here on American soil, but today it finally reacts.

I think we're in for some turbulence - and clearly there's missing information. A diagnosis with mild symptoms has turned into - he's been airlifted to Walter Reed as of about 20 minutes ago.
                History will judge the complicit.

Is it really responding to this, though? The market constantly moves up and down. The financial writers have to attribute it to something every day.

I always laugh at the random explanations to which finance writers attribute market movements. They claim omniscient knowledge of what's happening in the minds of investors, with zero polling, zero statements, just assessing what's moving up vs. down. Sure, there are indicators, but often, it's pure quackery & guesswork.

I think the bigger story is going to be how many others are infected. It appears that the SCOTUS announcement on Saturday might have been the super spreader event. The president and first lady, a Republican Senator on the judiciary committee, and the president of Notre Dame were all at that event with no masks or distancing and have all come down with COVID. The chairperson of the RNC has also. It appears she caught it from a family member. She was last with the president on Friday, the day before the SCOTUS event.

I actually read that article a few minutes ago. We were talking about that at dinner and wondering what the process was. I think the article is a good lesson to anyone wondering the same thing.

Apparently there is a second Republican Senator with COVID who was at the SCOTUS event so that makes at least 5 people there who have tested positive.

Make that 6 people. Kellyanne Conway was at the SCOTUS event too. She was also on the debate prep team for Tuesday’s event.

                              Trump kisses Hope Hicks.
An hour ago we found out that President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump admitted having COIVD-19. We immediately set out to learn just how close ...

Zinc, vitamin D, melatonin, aspirin. These were some of the over-the-counter stuff Trump was given. I have all of these except zinc. Should I be taking these myself as a preventative measure?
