How Much Does Chick-Fil-A Make in A Day?

April 19, 2025 by Tamila McDonald

How Much Does Chick-Fi-A Make in A Day?

If you’re unfamiliar, Chick-Fil-A is a popular fast food restaurant chain. The company not only serves delicious fried chicken and waffle fries, but also delivers exceptional service. Its commitment to customer care has helped draw in patrons who want a pleasant experience along with a tasty meal. In business, the level of acclaim Chick-Fil-A has achieved typically translates into healthy sales figures. But exactly how much does the fast food chain make in a day? If you’re curious, here’s what you need to know about Chick-Fil-A’s earnings, both at the franchise and corporate level.

How Much Does Chick-Fil-A Make In A Day?

First, it’s important to note that Chick-Fil-A isn’t a publicly-traded company—it’s a private business. So Chick-Fil-A isn’t subject to the same financial reporting requirements as publicly-traded companies. Luckily, information about the chain’s financial performance is still available, so let’s dive into the interesting figures we uncovered.

Chick-Fil-A has food trucks, mall locations, and standalone restaurants. In total, the chain boasts over 3,000 locations throughout the United States and Canada. On average, a single Chick-Fil-A restaurant brings in an annual sales volume of nearly $9.4 million.

If you break that down by day (not including Sundays when the chain is closed), that works out to a daily sales volume of approximately $30,128 per day. The restaurants earn revenue by fulfilling mobile, drive-thru, and dine-in orders. Additional sales come from catering and gift cards.

Average Net Proceeds

Restaurants are notorious for incredibly high operating costs, including food, salaries, overhead, advertising, and shrink. Despite this, the average profit margin of a Chick-Fil-A restaurant is an impressive 30% according to Entrepreneur. Considering that each restaurant posts about $9.4 million in sales each year, we can expect about $2.82 million to be kept as profit.

These profits are usually divided between corporate and the franchise owner. Entrepreneur reports that owners can expect to earn between 5% and 7% of their location’s profits. This generally amounts to a salary of $150,000 per year.

Sales and income figures can fluctuate not only year to year, but also day to day. When it comes to franchises, some locations outperform others for a variety of reasons. Quality can vary from one location to the next, and some may be in better locations than others. Still, the information above sheds a light on the company’s profitability and revenue numbers.

Total Sales and Corporate Revenue

In 2024, Chick-Fil-A reported $22.7 billion in sales across all locations. If you divide that by the number of working days in a year, that works out to a daily sales figure of about $72.76 million. Chick-Fil-A has profit sharing agreements with franchisees and takes a percentage of each restaurant’s net proceeds.  The company also earns revenue from franchise fees, lease agreements, and retail sales of its sauces. In total, Chick-Fil-A reported about $9 billion in revenue in 2024.

Interesting Facts About Chick-Fil-A

  • The first Chick-Fil-A opened in 1967 in Atlanta.
  • Every Chick-Fil-A closes on Sundays for religious reasons, including the one in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which hosts some NFL games on Sundays during the season.
  • Claims state that Chick-Fil-A introduced the first fast food chicken sandwich.
  • Surprisingly, the waffle fries are the most-ordered menu item, not the chicken.
  • There are over 3000 Chick-Fil-A locations across the U.S. and Canada.
  • The “A” in “Chick-Fil-A” does more than lead to the pronunciation of “filet” in the name. It also stands for Grade A, indicating that the chain serves high-quality meat.
  • New Chick-Fil-A locations have a First 100 Campout, and the first 100 customers there get free meals for a year.
  • The famous Chick-Fil-A sauce is a mix of barbecue, ranch, and honey mustard. Due to popular demand, the company started selling it at grocery stores so you can enjoy it at home.

  • Did you know that Chick-Fil-A Franchisees can only open a single location.

Ultimately, Chick-Fil-A is an interesting chain with a unique history and some potential claims to fame. It’s incredibly popular among diners as well as aspiring franchisees looking for a restaurant option with significant earnings potential.
