What is A Price Drop?

A price drop is when the price of an item you recently purchased has been reduced. Sometimes a price reduction means you are eligible for a price adjustment. Many stores allow you to get a price adjustment if a price drop occurs within 30 days of your purchase. To get a reduction, you need proof of the new price, your receipt with the price and purchase date, and bring it in-store. You will get a refund for the price difference upon showing the customer service agent. These programs are utilized by many of your favorite retail stores, but I have also seen such programs with airlines and travel booking sites.

Does Costco Have A Price Drop Program?

Costco grocery store does have a price drop program. It allows customers to get a price adjustment on purchases up to 30 days after the original transaction date. The new price must be lower than the original. Some people have even managed to get the adjustment after the 30-day grace period.

Eligibility

All members are not entitled to price adjustments. It only applies to regular members. Resell members are limited to price adjustments on merchandise purchased through select promotional dates. Members hoping to get a price match with other sellers, or through the Costco warehouse for online purchases are out of luck as well, as the store does not allow for those types of price matches and adjustments.

Do You Need Physical Receipts?

Most retailers ask that customers have a physical copy of thier receipt to get a proper adjustment. This does not apply to Costco. Users can provide a receipt in the form of a physical copy, or through their membership account where their purchases are logged.

How Do You Get A Refund?

To get a price adjustment refund at Costco, customers must have a copy of their receipt and take it to the customer service desk. If the purchase is online, there is a different process. To get a refund for online purchases, fill out this online form or call 18007442678.
