Places That Pay You $10K or Better If You Relocate

September 8, 2022 by Allen Francis

If you could leave right now for a new life, where would you go?

If you could jump at the opportunity for a new life, would you do it?

Believe it or not, there are countries in the world and cities here in America that will pay you $10,000 or more to move.

You would have to change your life dramatically and move soon, but you would get thousands of dollars to help with moving expenses.

Are you interested?

Here are three options for you.

West Virginia

West Virginia wants to attract young or well-experienced and ambitious working professionals to upgrade the image of the state and local communities.

So, if you are willing to relocate to West Virginia, you will get $12,000 for your trouble

The Ascend West Virginia initiative will grant  $12,000 to any telecommuting professionals with a steady remote job willing to move to one of the local rural and mountain communities.

Once selected, you will get $10,000 for the first year to cover relocation costs. And then you get $2,000 for the next year.

You will also get access to a free local coworking space and over $2,500 in outdoor recreation gear.

Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a major American city with a population of about 404,000. Tulsa is situated about 100 miles northeast of Oklahoma City and about 200 miles southeast of Wichita, Kansas.

Do you have a long-term telecommuting job?

Are you able to financially take care of yourself? And are you willing to relocate to Tulsa within the next few months?

The local Tulsa municipality will give you $10,000 to help you cover your relocation costs.

The Tulsa Remote program will give you $10,000 to help you find a place to stay, rent local working space if needed, and assist in networking with local working professionals.

The Tulsa Remote program wants to rejuvenate the local economy by encouraging young and remotely employed professionals to move to the city and bring new and ambitious energy with them.

You must be at least 18 years old. You must be ready to relocate within a year. Additionally, you must be already gainfully employed or self-employed as a long-time remote worker.

The Remote Scottish Isles

Do you have ambition and entrepreneurial spirit?

Are you willing to move to a small and remote Scottish island to prove it?

Scotland is looking for foreigners to jumpstart successful businesses and bring local and international attention and renewed revenue to the local isles.

The hook is that you won’t be relocating to mainland Scotland but to one of the many sparsely inhabited isles located along the Scottish coastline.

To cover your relocation expenses, the Scottish government will grant you £50,000, or about the equivalent of $60,500 USD. But this isn’t free money. You will need to move and reside on a small Scottish island for several years, if not longer, and bring a business plan with you.

The Scottish government wants to upgrade and improve the reputation of the sleepy, remote isles. The government also wants to reinvigorate the local economy with new, foreign-born entrepreneurial inhabitants who will bring new business energy.

About 100 participants for this program will be chosen by 2026. To learn more information, visit Scotland’s National Islands Plan website.
